With all the talk of wrong-doors and correct-doors, just wondered how the different body types rated in terms of popularity. Could be helpful for new buyers wondering which one would be easiest in terms of resale too :D

I think 2 doors are easily the most popular. I can't see that much of a difference myself..

Bit of a niche market for tourings, some people just like them. Same for the convertibles.

I voted 2 door as i believe it's the most popular, but i prefer 4 doors for practicality.

Baurs are 2 doors with the roofs hacked off. :D

2 door chromies are obviously the best looking E30, But I still like every tye of E30.

Even the interior is something special. Look where they placed the lights....and look where the B-pillar used to be. Because the Mercedes has shorter doors than the E30, they had to take piece out of the door the let the roof go in!

This car (a 318i Automatic) was build by BMW Januari 1984. 6 months later (7-1984) it was ready.

As far as I know, there are about 18 of these cars build.

Biggest problem off course was that BMW didn't give it their blessing-> no garanty or anything on such an expensive car. Same thing with the Luchjenbroers "touring". The Baur TC's where build in cooperation with BMW and kept their garanty. And because the Kohl-Coupe was not much more than a Baur TC with hardtop, this was also no problem.

It has standard roof line and normal doors. The E36 etc has coupe doors (no frame at the top) hence e30's being a 2 door sallon. winkeye
