Has anyone one done an engine swap with a motor from an E46? I only ask coz saw this on ebay:

Now there's a thought! The mechanicals would be the easiest bit,but the electronics would be a bit of a pain in the butt!

I've a 2.5 version of this engine sitting in my workshop, to be fitted into a E30 tiuring at some point.
From the small bit of work I've done, it looks like a E34/E36 manual gearbox will fit, with an M20 flywheel and clutch.
It fits into the E30 engine bay with the same E36 engine mounts and E34 sump as the M50.
Make sure the engine ECU and matching EWS unit come with the engine, along with a key if possible, otherwise you will have big(ger) electrical problems.
There's also the matter of the fly by wire throttle,

well if you do end up fitting it and making it work, there would be a few people who would appreciate a "how to guide".
In fact while we're on it don't you guys think we could do with a good, comprehensive, start to finish m50 engine swap guide. At the moment its a case of searching the forum aint it
