Mate, you got a set of toyos on it! I got 17's and a set of toyo's on my sport and you couldnt spin the wheels in the dry if you had the car in a straight line. You need to throw her sideways, heat up those wheels and get her sliding.....

LOL!

to wheelspin mate iv done it loads of times but dont make it a habit due to me destroying my gear box badly that i could not find another autobox for a long time is stick it in neutral like one of the guys already said give it about 5 thousand revs bang it to drive and off u go...like i said dont make it a habit unless u must have really good tyres on ur car...

bump

can anyone else confirm that they can get the wheels spinning in 325i switchable auto? I have tried and... nothing! I am asking this not because I want to go round in circles in tesco car park all day, but concerned that it might be lacking in power/something faulty.

dont listen to the idiots saying try harder, you'll only break something

i had an C2 2.7 cabrio which was an auto. from a standing start in the dry it never spun up the rear tyres no matter how hard i stamped on the throttle, in the rain it would spin up a bit depening on the type of road/tarmac

i rember simon13's 325i auto, that had an LSD and ia good engine, one eveing we spent ages trying to get the car to break traction in the rain and finaly it did and managed about 1 1/2 doughnuts

anything manual can be proveked to break traction, even a 316. its not terribly hard dispite 1an making sound like only a hero could do it with lead foot. chirt, Fast car photographed me buring out in my 316i at ace cafe on max power night about 8 years ago. boot full of revs 100bhp and 205 tyres breaks traction

@ 1000rpm on 325i there isnt much power to break traction like, and if it does it will then shift to another gear and bog you down LSD or not if you are trying to pull doughnuts.

IIRC ther gear boxes can 'slip' a bit, i think they can be adjusted but you need to speak to some one who understands the gear boxes. same applies to the torque converter.

in regards to performance, you best guide it to see how it pulls through the gears against a similar car

plenty of pressure in the rears should help...45-50psi or so...

I've never tried it in an auto, but i usually put 50 psi in the back tyres when I want to drift on track
