i'm for buying a red 325i "sport" i have sport in commas because the chap who is selling the car said that it just says 325i on the tax/log book. a always thought that if it was a sport it would say there would it not? I'm well aware of black roof cloth, leather, map reading lights on mirror, 2 computers etc etc. i haven't drove the car so have been unable to test the car and see if it has an lsd. Is there anything else that a sport has compaired to an SE, because i dont want an SE dressed up as a sport! PLEASE HELP!

just ask him for the last 7 digets of the chassis number and ask your local stealer to check the computer .
All will be revealed

should say sport on the log book if its a genuine sport, this im pretty sure of but im sure ill be corrected along the line, my suggestion is if it dont say sport on the log book and you are after a "sport" dont buy it!! you wouldnt buy a cat if you wanted a dog now would you??
best to do all the checks you can mate before purchase, mine has "sport" on the log book and its up for sale

"WOW" i personally have never heard of that m8, i was also told that a sport is only a sport when it says it on the log book???? surley this cant be a fact because everybody would be changing there log books to "sport" just to gain a few quid, im was almost certain too that you could only change minor details like colour of car etc.... suley you cant actually change the car model can you???? i think thats crazy if thats the casebigdek wrote:http://www.e30zone.co.uk/modules.php?na ... highlight=

i agree m8 i think its crazy as well but this must be possible as
A1BMW325iSport says that his logbook says sport but it wasn't when it
left the factory.

you can change what you like on, if you ask dvla they usally tell you if its been changed. i used to play with minis and when i built a new engine for someone the engine number was up to them (dans1380turbo) etc.

Mines a genuine Sport, confirmed by BMW and it only has 325i on the log book.
The best one Ive seen was a '320i M-Sport' according to the log book

Tamtaf, as the guys have said, the only 100% way is to phone the dealers with the last 7 digits of the chassis number, you've already said yourself you know how to tell a sport from a non sport!
BTW the 2 computers are not standard, the check control panel is standard on all 6 cylinder cars, the OBC was optional on all but SE models.

i do stand corrected then, you know i would have put my house on saying that you couldnt change a model of a car on the log book, probably shows why im always skint!!!
i do agree with si though, best way is to check #'s

Deffo no sport with chrome! Only chrome on a sport should be the kidney grill. Headlamp wash wipe is standard on all sports, but may have been removed, tell tale if it's been removed is the jets between the lamps, the double washer fluid bottle, and there will be an S on the wiper stalk, unless they've gone to great pains to remove the lot, which is unlikely.

just for myself really due to all the sport goodies my car has, i def. wouldn`t agree with people changing theirs to get more money, if someone is looking to buy a sport, write down the vin and ask bmw to verify the detailsbigdek wrote:i agree m8 i think its crazy as well but this must be possible as
