Hi all. For those amongst us who still love a good drive, might I suggest a trip to Skye. I am off work with a broken finger, now nearly fully mended and decided, having seen this months EVO magazine to follow in their footsteps (or wheel tracks). The drive from Portsmouth to Scotland was ok, but past the border, WOW! What stunning scenery and great, almost deserted roads.
A few pics for you here.

Portree on Skye
Just under 2,000 miles and my new toy never missed a beat.
Apologies for not turning up to the Portsdown meet on November 20th but Skye beckoned.

Well done mate!

I'm planning a motorcycle ride up there with 2 mates in early Spring, up the east coast to Scotland
and back down the west coast to Cornwall.

I know this doesnt compare to your trip but ive just managed 3500 miles in 20 days just driving around the UK in my daily driver, me E34. I went to lots of places like aberdeen, milton keynes, swansea, folkestone, scarborough.

Fair play though mate.

Personal best for me so far is Kitzbuehel Austria to back home( Aberdeenshire)
with just the odd powernap here n there.

That's something we locals like to take advantage of at every available opportunity.
As soon as you get North of Glasgow, you'll find an entire playground full of decent backroads to have some fun on.
It is kinda rude not too take advantage of them when you get the opportunity winkeye

The west coast of scotland rules.

The road to the isles from Fort William to Malliag is immense. A few photos from my trip this summer.

and the unfortunate vehicle we went up in.

Not the nicest chariot in the world but we did leave it in a car park in Mallaig for two weeks so there was no way I was leaving anything good there.

Bad Dave's comment about the roads north of Glasgow ring so true. We have some lovely roads here in the south, especially over the Downs, unfortunately either too heavily trafficked, stupid effing "traffic calming" measures or scameras. I was considering a road trip to take in Monaco Historic Gran Prix followed by a trip through Italy then back to Monaco two weeks later for the F1. My car ran perfectly, I'm off to Italy next year :D
Two more pics from Skye, look, no traffic, smooth tarmac and good sight lines to the bends, bliss!

I've been toying with the idea of doing a road trip to Le Mans for the classic 24 hr. It's only on every other year, but I think it's even number years, so next summer might be the time! ;)

From Glasgow to fort william is brilliant with the streams that run down the mountains.

My E30 averages 1500 miles a month just driving for work! Just done a round trip to swindon way which was 230 miles - she loves it
