i have recently put wired an amp into my touring which powers my rear speakers but now all i get is sound at the rear of the car.
my cd unit has amp plugs but only for one amp so how can i wire in another amp for the front speakers?
or, can i run all 4 speakers off the one amp (small amp, only has 2 speaker out wires if that makes sense?)
how to wire in 2 amps?

most lower to mid range head units only have one RCA output, and this output simply replicates the sound from the CD/radio/tape etc. this RCA as you have done can be used to supply an amp, but there will be no front to rear fader possible. what you can do is get a splitter that converts the one RCA (white and red output) into two RCA i.e. two reds and two whites, then you have two signal leads which you can use to power each amp. to get the sound level adjusted from front to rear you will need to play with the amp output settings. but splitting a RCA lead will lower the signal quality and this will translate into a poorer sound quality (you probably wont really notice it!)
alternatively sell your rear amp and buy a four channel amp, run the four channel amp from the single RCA output and then run your four speakers from this amp. This is simpler as no need for multiple power leads (as you would with two amps) and no need to split the RCA, you only must figure a way of getting the speaker wires to the front, this is not really hard.
and no you cannot properly run four speakers from a 2 channel amp.

I'd also change the amp. You could get a four channel amp that has speaker input facility (as well as just RCA style phono connections).
