At the moment i'm just collecting all the bits and bob needed from the donor (e34 535 sport).
So far i have .

engine, box and ecu
window wash bottle
exhaust downpipe
air con fan
throttle cable
header tank(can i use this ?)

Parts i have on order or will be ordering

M30 engine mounts from beefy
inlet manifold gaskets
exhaust manifold gaskets
exhaust manifold springs and nuts
tb gasket
gear shft seal(using the e30 flange)
rocker cover gasket
sump gasket
pas belt
fan belt
waterpump
chain tensioner
manual e28 535 rad

The engine mounts on the car are new rs2000 burton ones and it also has new gearbox mounts

Have i missed anything?

The donor was also fitted with a multi point lpg kit that i will fit at somepoint but the may thing is to get it in and usable first .

jake, just use the e30 expansion bottle in its current position. i cant remember what the e34 washer bottle looks like but i doubt it fits. if you use the standard e34 airbox your e30 washer bottle wont fit either. i used a bottle from a nissan micra tie wrapped to the e30 airbox bracket...never got round to making a bracket for it :)

easy to see both sides here.

The header tank was just an idea Nick.
I'll be using the washer bottle from the e34 as leeparks has done,it fits in nicely beside the e34 airbox.

If you can get or have a batt relocation kit, then put a early header tank where the batt used to be. More coolant in the system and much less likley to suffer from pressure problem's. I can't get my e34 washer bottle to fit so will be fitting a small one from demon tweek's.

Sure you have to cut a bit off the washer bottle to get it to fit.(more than likely did that)

These turned up 2 mins ago :D

E34 washer bottle does fit, i have one in my M30 engine bay.
It locates nicely down the side of the OEM air box.
I've done it as passed on the ifo to Leeparkes on here, and he's got one in his M30.
All you have to do it grind of the locating bit of plastic on the bottom of the washer bottle.

HTH's :P

Make sure you dont cut too much off the lug on the washer bottle as i did :o: and it does fit nice and snug by the side of the air box

As for the E34 expansion bottle it can be used,MJJ_ZX6RR is using one.

Just had a look at MJJ_ZX6RR's bay and i like the header up there.
I do think it may get in the way of a strut brace tho if i decide to put one on.

Also notice he has the ecu's(engine and abs i take it) sitting on the battery tray.
Can the engine ecu go back under the steering wheel without any issues?

Its a bit of a stretch but it does go under the dash but it rotates 180 degree.
you will see when you get there.

His ECU's are there because his car is an auto.
Yours will fit in the origional place under the steering , but you will have to turn it 180 degrees as the loom is just short.Keep your origional header where it is, or no strut brace will fit.

Looking at Nicks engine bay I think we should use the e34 header tank leaving room for the LPG vaporizers and solenoids where the e30's header tank would go. I'm looking forward to the first test drive of this car, should be rather lively :D

The one off the donor is a big fecker, it has 2 vap's? To be honest the only bit of this conversion that concerns me is figuring out the LPG as the tube that installed it must have wrapped the wiring around every tube, hose and mounting bracket before soldering the connections up, meaning we had to cut more than a few wire's to remove it. Should only add a day or two to the build hopefully.

It will be a challenge to fit i reckon ,but im sure we will figure it out mate with both of us having gas qualification(or you'd think so).

You might be right about the header tank to free up a bit of space at that side for the lpg setup.would like a strut brace up front so might need to do a few measurements.

Had a spare hour tonight ,so thought i'd attempt the fitting of the E34 washer bottle.
I have the wash wipe on the headlights which were only there for decoration and i had to do a bit of butchering to the motor so i can still have the wipers and fit the washer bottle in.

I also had to cut the headlight cover as i didnt wont to loss that either.

Still to sort out a better way of securing the bottle but i haave an idea for that.

what airbox are you using?
if you use the E32/4 one, it should just about squeeze in but your coil will have to move to make way.
then you can poke the cold air feed through a new trimmed hole in the headlight cover - if there's anything left of it :D

The airbox will sqeeze in no problem, i have it on mine, and lee too.
Did you cut the lug of the bottom of the washer bottle as it helps it sit down abit more.
If you haven't, be careful not to cut too much or it'll start to leak.

Sure ive read somewhere a vitara bottle works in the battery tray

that may have been me. well, i have a vitara (iirc, it was 'some' 4x4 thing on top of a pile of scrap cars!) washer bottle, on an adaptor plate that mounts it to the 325i AFM bracket
