Don't want to speak out of turn as the one piece Hartges are my favorite e30 wheels, but something doesn't look quite right that I can't put my finger on. Maybes its because its an unbodykitted chromie and I'm just not used to it. What size are the tyres?

I think its because most cars you see with hartges are slammed, or a lot lower than mine anyway

Tyres are 225/40/16

Oh wow! Has to be the nicest E30 on the zone now! 8)

This car just keeps getting better! Far cry from the humble 316 now.

I liked the bbs's too, but after having the job of rubbering them just after the owner had tried for two days to clean them they look spot on in my opinion. Height is just right. Stanced I reckon. I think you need a dealer exhaust though mate.
One quality piece this though. Think it's probs my fav zone car too. Or will be once it's running alpina rightness. :wan:

My old S50 car also with H&R 35mm springs. The rear arch profile is obviously higher as its a facelift car but the front is alot lower. I guess an S50 weighs more than an M52 with and iron block.

Looking at the sill line there isnt much in it at the rear, but the front is lower on yours yes, were the springs new or used Barry? Mine has new springs and new B8 dampers so there wont be any slop at all

Dez, if you heard it at 6k on an open road you would be saying f*ck the dealer exhaust! winkeye

It was all new when Damo fitted them to the touring. By the time that pic was taken they had done approx 4k.

Hmm, well mines done about 3k so far, going off facelift weights mine is approx 100kg lighter as I found out, which is a fair bit of weight.

3.25:1 M3 LSD sweep, courtesy of Mr Moseley, it will go off the gauge in 5th now ive fitted these wheels :)

They look lost in those wheel arches, probably down to the undersize tyres.

Very nice looking car nonetheless.

For what its worth i reckon leave the ride height mate. I like it. What wouyld you do fit 40mm ebach pros? That would get what 5mm and they would have too settle wouldnt they.
People who have had both say that the H&R are slightly stiffer which prefer. Its all opinions though, and in mine nothing needs changing but what do i know

Yup, I reckon they'd look better with 225/45s. But still one of my favourite cars on the zone!

It gets quieter the faster you go, its probably at its best sound closer to 5k rpm

Im not really ar5ed about the ride height, it handles great and will go over most speed bumps 8)

I might have a play with the springs at some stage though :)

I can confirm mine is loudest at 7.4k..

If it handles as you want and can drive it anywhere you need to, then it's all good.. I can only just get over my speed bumps on the way into work

I think you could fit Dave (d6dph) in that rear arch gap :teehee:

I don't think lowering it loads more would suit it Dan, only maybe another 20mm.

370mm tech one wheel, you know it makes sense!

Seriously though, i like it very much!
I'll second Bss325i's suggestion and raise another suggestion a e36 business CD radio, then your car is Original Polizei approved.

But regardless awesome car. If it should be modded what you have done a least adds to the cars value unlike some modders and their Lexus rearlights etc. styling.
Why is there not enough time to do it right, but allways enough time to fix the errors - I borrowed that, just so reallistic in my line of work.

The mods are still coming, just dropped some mahoosive rear discs off to have some bits made up :D

Hi Dan,

Car is awesome, glad the wheels found a good home.

What did you do with the headlining in the end?

Cheers

Cheers Paul, not done anything with headlining yet as they are now NLA, I wouldnt go to the effort of fitting a second hand one TBH as they mostly always get pulled in places. Im planning on just getting it dyed black as and when I get round to it, unless you want to give me yours :)

You still in london town?

Friend of mine is looking at an M3 that was half way through a restoration and all ready to be put back together. Only bit missing is the headlining as it was torn on removal... should be fun getting a replacement!!!
