Ok I just retrofitted Euro H1's, Headlight wipers, and the Intensive wash function to my 85 325e. Everything is fitted, but I have a question about the intensive wash. I wired in the updated wiper control unit in the fusebox, and wire it to the Headlight wiper harness. But when I press the end of the Wiper stalk in, The Regulor washer pump kicks in. The wipers wipe a full 1-2 strokes then the pump runs for 3 seconds or so, then the wipers wipe another couple strokes and go off. I have blue fluid in the regulor tank, and some Pink Bug remover fluid in the Intensive tank. The fluid coming out of the hood nozzles is blue. All three pumps are tested as working. Is both regulor and Intensive fluid supposed to come out when the intensive function is operated? The Intensive fluid may still need to be primed into the system, as I know it took a while for the regulor washer fluid to work it's way up threw all those hoses.
Also while on the subject, does the Driver's headlight wiper have to have the driver's side working for it to wipe the headlight? Or is that just for the fluid cleaning?
Intensive wash cycle Question?

I've got that article saved, My driver's wiper you can move the shaft freely in and out, but the driver's side won't budge. I'll split it open sometime, for now the wipers look cool

Well Left side works no problem, Right side is slow and sounds like it's struggling. I'll pull it apart and clean it out to see if I can get it moving faster. I'm guesing my control unit is bad as they don't seem to work while wired up to the harness.

Hey rs4pro3, did you ever get answers to your intensive washer question? I'm doing the same project but in my situation, nothing happens when I press in on the wiper stalk for intensive cleaning - which means my wiring is way off. I do have both headlight wipers working though. Can you explain how you have it wired and maybe we can both figure it out?
Thanks,
TN.

For Future reference here is a short write up I did
"The Euro Cars have an Intensive wash function on top of the Headlight wipers. This function uses a separate washer fluid container that holds an intensive fluid designed to get bugs and tar off quicker. When you press in the end of the Euro wiper stalk, the intensive cleaner kicks in. The Wiper control unit for the Euro cars is different and has 2 extra pins that control the intensive functions
On the bottom of the control unit the extra pins are TS and PS. YouÔš'll have to split open the fuse box and add the extra wires to make everything work. Once the fuse box is split open, youÔš'll have to add the 2 wires and connectors that the relay will plug into. I just took and old fuse box and the removed two of the small connectors IÔš'd need and pushed them into the slots.
Pin TS needs to be Run threw the Main harness all the way to the wiper stalk and then connected to the Brown/Blue wire coming off the Euro stalk. I just used a small 18guage wire and ran it out of the fuse box, and threw the firewall and then wired it up. The other pin PS Must also be run threw the firewall, but also must be splice and ran up to the Headlight area of the car. Once threw the firewall connect it to the Brown/Gray wire off the wiper stalk. Up at the headlights it needs to be spliced to the Brown/gray wire coming off the Headlight wiper wiring harness. This connection is at a plug just like the early style foglights, so I Just cut the end of the plug from a parts car I needed and connected it to the Headlight wiper harness. This plug has one other wire which is the input to the Headlight Wiper control unit that the Headlights are on. The Head lights must be on for the wipers to work. This other wire is Gray and white and needs to be tapped into the Gray/White wire going to the side-markers.
All you have left to do is plug the appropriate plug from the Headlight wiper harness into the Pump on the Intensive washer container."

They didn't have the HLWW in the US.
Non return valves are really cheap, and can be bought from any good car store.

Ya here in the U.S. if it wasn't for the U.S. market it was a Euro car.
My non-return valve is also leaking. It drained my washer resivor in overnight. None of the stores around here sell any that will work, so I'm going to have to order some from the dealership.
