If the work has been done correctly, they will perform identically to their new specification.
"Core" is the old units you are removing. The term appears frequently on realOEM, in the pricing columns.

As Baz says, pick up solid 2nd hand units and have them refurbished.fishingtourer wrote:sorry to intervene on your post but i have just removed my cylinder head and found it cracked. but also found that the orange tips on 3 of my injectors have melted probably affecting the spray pattern and they probably need replacing or cleaning rix 313 have you come across melted tips before ? repairable or replace ? im guessing replace tbh

Guys,
Anyone car to comment on the worth of those FiveO upgraded design injectors (probably £200 shipped to the UK) over refurbing the original injectors (£90 ish with postage) as discussed above?
This is for a standard M30B35 with noisy injectors and a top end power issue that is probably not helped by 21 year old injectors.
Just wondering if people thought the extra £110 would be wise.
Martin.

Lots of bikes, the odd modern BMW, and now an 88 e30 335i Cab project with E32 running gear

if i had a spare £200 then i would get new ones also as my injectors are good and do the job well + even better once there cleaned i`m happy to keep with my Oem ones.
so a saving of a £110 would be wise, could spend it on other stuff.

The new design injectors have proven popular with quite a few guys in Australia. Are they worth it? Probably. That being said, however, standard OEM units that have been given a going over will serve you perfectly well. Old injectors can be very bloody noisy and can take the edge off performance and economy. Whichever way you go it'll be a win. Still, the refurbed OEMs will be fine, I reckon. You essentially end up with new injectors and unless you're hunting for every last possible percentage of horsepower and seeking to really maximize efficiency, the savings on refurbed units probably outweigh the benefits of outlaying the extra cash.MJJ_ZX6RR wrote:Guys,

Agreed.
The people who should be buying new are those who are doing everything else to make their car run perfectly like full engine/head rebuilds etc.
For most people, refurbing the existing injectors is more than good enough.

If this means you can sort some kind of group/bulk discount then add my name to the list matey. I was going to get them done next year, but (goes into Scrooge mode) if I can save a few quid I'll do it sooner.rix313 wrote:As long as it's E30 only injectors, Injector tune are willing to do them for £10 per injector if there is enough interest.

At a tenner per injector it's got to be worth it - I'm in.

I'm just in the process of building up a 2.8 m20, bought a cheap set of 535 injectors and just thought I'd get them cleaned for good measure. They look cleaner than before and the service was pretty quick, but I can't give a before/after comparison.
Not a problem Chris we can do that but we are not buying anything we are just getting a few name togother to put forward to the company for the discount.
As i`v got 2 sets i`m now going to buy and try this ebay company, i`ll keep you guys informed from the time i post them and the condition and resaults on when i get them back.I just had a set done by these guys, only £5 per injector

Did they not include a before/after report?MrBenn wrote:I'm just in the process of building up a 2.8 m20, bought a cheap set of 535 injectors and just thought I'd get them cleaned for good measure. Were new service parts fitted?
At £5 per injector, the guy can't be making enough to make it worthwhile if he's replacing filters/sealing rings etc as well as cleaning them.Injectortune wrote:Did they not include a before/after report?MrBenn wrote:I'm just in the process of building up a 2.8 m20, bought a cheap set of 535 injectors and just thought I'd get them cleaned for good measure. As for them looking cleaner than before, you should bear in mind that the particles involved are invisible to the naked eye, so something that looks clean might very well still be partially blocked up.
you can still get them from the main dealers fella, and there pennys to buy.I have access to a ultra sonic cleaner jobby... can i not just do it my self? Where can i find the o-rings and filters that require replacing?
