If I were to find a a 323i with very little rust for a cheap price, I'll definitely get one.
Is it true there pretty lethal drive? (rear end)

They go for peanuts at the moment! They seem to be the most unloved of the 3 series and you hardly ever see them on the roads (especially good examples).
I reckon eBay would be a good bet, but you would have to see it before as e21s really can rust.
Never driven one, but if they're anything like the '02 I had then they should handle well for their age. One with the M10 would be a good place to start as these engines have serious tuning potential and are known for their strength. Apparently they are also potentially lethal in the wet if you have a heavy right foot in the corners.
Good luck finding a good one!

ideal, thank you to all.
im aiming on stripping it down to a bare shell, so rust isnt too much of an issue as long as it isnt amazingly bad. id love to have a 2002, lovely cars.

the 2002 sounds as if it will be expensive lol, im after getting a cheapish e21 and having it as a long term project rather than shelling out a lot on a car already done, i like the feeling of achievement you geting making a car you own. found an e21 323i non runner for £300 ono, depending on location
