hi there guys.... simple enough query but need some advice......

my fan heater is dead on position 1,2,3 but 4 is fine....this MUST be the rotary switch right???? or cud it be a lose wire?

not had the problem myself but i believe it's common and to do with the resistor pack, not the switch.

You would imagine that it's fairly simple, will. If there's any hint of a technical question in the original post, then it should be posted in 'tech help', but there are plenty on here who don't seem able to work that one out!!

mynes exacally the same!! i made it work on 4 but then it cuts out after a while then i took it apart put it back together then it works for abit longer! i would like to know what the problem is aswell :)

It is a common problem. Something to do with the resistor pack. I`d do a quick search under technical help if I were you. Plenty of threads for a relatively simple fix.

Bear in mind that if your fan motor is becoming stiff, through lack of lubrication, it will draw excess current, and your new resistor pack may not have the length of life that BMW intended.
