Excellent, thanks Ian
Is this the one that is used or can be used as a sump plug?
I know the pics on the ETK arent always accurate, but it shows it as part number 8, which is also the oil pressure switch

James,
Yeah, it's deffo the correct one, and it does have the correct thread to be used in place of the sump plug.
Mind you, you should already have an oil temp sensor on your S50 engine. It's actually the same part number as the E30 M3 one.
Cheers,
Ian.

I knew that, but just had it in my head that I needed one to fit as a sump plug
I was even looking at the E36 M3 clocks Ive got here and thinking, hmm can I use these to get the oil temp guage.
I was actually thinking about an oil pressure sender for an Aux guage, rather than just the idiot light.
Any ideas on how to fit one on the S50?

I guess you could try and find some sort of 'T' piece to allow the standard idiot light and the aux pressure sender to go in the same hole.jmc330i wrote:I was actually thinking about an oil pressure sender for an Aux guage, rather than just the idiot light.

Failing that, you could do something like this.

So thats a replacement cap for the oil filter housing. I could probably sort something like that, maybe using the original cap. Im going to have to think about this one.ian332isport wrote: Failing that, you could do something like this.
