Different people have different tastes, although some people have odd boundaries if they like all E30s just not Baurs.

Interesting these have come up twice in the last week on here - from another thread:

Haven't driven a Stag of any description - to be totally frank, they are one of the few cars I have an inbuilt prejudice against. I'm a bit love/hate with all triumphs really - I have moments when they really appeal to me, then others when all I can think of is Hamlet cigars, Bells whisky, whippets and ugly wives. Jensen Interceptors give me much the same twin extremes, but I guess all cars that last out to be classics go through a period of being desperately unfashionable and associated with 'the wrong sort' - e30s are no exception, I'm just somehow able to ignore it more readily with them, probably because my grandfather had one and so I associate them with old duffers and stringback driving gloves rather than red-braced bwankers or, latterly, provincial drug dealers.

Not sure what the stereotype of a Baur owner is - perhaps the coveter of other things best left in the 80s, like Bros LPs, 'zany' fluorescent clothing accessories and Sinclair C5s.

I think it'd be quite hard to pitch... Maybe the same people who buy Saab 900s. Looking for an 'interesting' motor but don't want to spend 8K on a Merc SL.. It used to be the cliche that ad men drove old mercs and citroen DS's, I think these days they probably drive Fiat 500s though
