Terrific looking in the pics - it's just amazing how well these things can wear their miles when properly maintained. Sad really that too few are/were.

Hi Polsta, Loz Here,
Very happy you like the car.
Be good to see what it looks like after you've finished fettling.
Btw, and slightly off topic, I doubt we'll be getting another iS, this is our second.
That means I now have a 318iS cylinder head complete with cams etc.
Bought it before we bought our 1st iS as an insurance policy, so now surplus to requirements. Will put up a post on the Spares Section just in case someone needs it.
Cheers Polst, enjoy

that money. credit to previous owners.
Enjoy, great first e30 to own!!!

Remeber to get all the crud that got stuck under the lip of the boot spoiler mate. #i would use a heavy polish around the edge to help seal it a bit better before you remove it and reseal it baack on.
Cars really looking good. can't wait to see the engine bay all gleaming and polished

a few hours work this arvo, and ive finally finished the cleaning of the whole car, and its looking excellent now, and now i can be on with the finishing touches on the car
i used cling film and tin foil and covered all electrical bits
had a couple of brushes, small sponge, auto glym engine cleaner, hose to rinse it, and heres how it came out, which for a complete 1st attempt at this sort of thing, im pleased with it
now all i have to do tomorrow, is get some metal polish on it and see how it looks

cheers mate, im happy with how its looking now, i spent good money on the car i worked hard for, but it needed a good clean but now look at it
took me the last 4 afternoons cleaning and £20 on products, knackered me out your right, but would only be sat about as i dont work till 9pm, and the car needed a good clean, ive cleaned every inch of it inside and out now as best i can, and it shows and looks fantastic, plus its all getting to know every inch of the car
now i can move on to making it look really mint and the finishing touches, competition ?
, lets see next summer, i dont want to throw silly money at the car or go to far or get obsessed, as its a daily car im gonna use and if it was too mint/show like id not wanna drive it, but im going to make it as nice i can,and time and effort costs me nothing !

i was careful with it....i just used foil over top of bits covered in cling film here n there
so now...is there anything else i can do under there ? im gonna get the metal polish out tomorrow, and see what i can do with that
one thing ive n ot done...is put any grease/wd40 or anything anywhere under there yet ,i just cleaned it that was it, so what shud i do if anything ???

Cheers tez180, I'll use some of that on my e36 cab engine!
Polsta, you are clearly a star! But word to the wise, try to retain some of the original patina that has been accumulated over the years and 179,000 miles.
Cheers.

Although i hate t cut it works wonders under the engine bay, i used steam cleaner to get rid of the yellow, polished turrets etc, painted inlet and rocker cover, engine and machine cleaner and plenty of elbow grease.
Well worth it imo, and if anything its easier to maintain
