The chromie will be getting some zone love on Sunday, me & Dezzy are off to move it and get it on a ramp and see what's what. May get a bucket of water thrown over it, will get some pics and report back on what we find

Made a trip up the road this morning to get the old girl moved from the gargage where she has been resting for the last 4 years. Met up with Dezzy and we got it pulled out the garage, fired her up and a short journey later she was enjoying her first wash.

Got it on the lift and had a quick butchers underneath and she is a very tidy & solid specimen, really pleased with it.

Dezzy is going to get busy this week and clean up the arches at the back and put a quick patch in there and judging by the condition of the underside etc we should have an MOT on it soon. Engine really is quiet.

Being fussy, it needs a driver side wing and door as there is some bubbling in a couple of places, but nothing urgent.

Here's a couple of post wash pics

yep and the running in sticker at the top of the windscreen too :)

It's not in the same league as Dan's, but it's a damn good starting platform and with the exception of the rear arches and a few minor bits in unseen places, the rest are bolt on panels. There's a diamondschwartz facelift car in the local frag yard I may liberate the driver wing.

Oh yeah Steve, defo keeping it stock except for a 40 drop and alloys.

The lip spoiler is cool and will look better on a drop, I assume it is just an optional extra?

It's a good look! Spoiler is indeed a BMW option. I had one on my car for a bit before I got the Zender kit...

Not sure yet Daf, will get the touring stipped of all the necessary parts and then set about stripping the chromie. I think I may then put out the SOS for a work party to try and blitz it.

I'm going to resist the urge to tax the chromie otherwise I'll just drive it and never get the swap done as it's a sweet little motor

If you've got all the parts and the new shell's tidy enough, get a load of the lads round and blitz it. Projects will drag as you well know lol

Oh come on, driving a 316 home is bad enough, but using it on a daily basis is just perverted!

Dezzy is driving it home to me mate, he's got a 50 mile schlep in it. He's gonna play fuel light bingo, it's got about 1/4 tank of the smelliest stale fuel. Will he make it?

Place bets now! :D

Don't worry mate still just under a quarter left in it. It's he clutch slipping in every gear i am more worried about. I reckon the 12 year old uniroyl is suspect as well but shy boys come last. See you tomorrow mate either at yours or on the side of the a1 winkeye
