as it bkew centre scorp open... i had it cut out and straught thrus put in for Ԛ£70 from my mates at powerflow

sounds no louder....not hollow anymore... sounds very muscular now but has lost that rip it used to make that was down to the shagged centre

power seems more linear.... no loss but i cant really say ive gained... so al in all im happy that i can drive it round without my ears bleeding due to a blown open centre 8O

So it isnt too loud with just a back box?

I put mine together in a rush for Gaydon, so I didnt bother with a centre box, but with the probs Ive had I still havent started it up, so I have no idea how it will sound or how loud it will be.
Im hoping for a sweet, burbling kind of thing

Seems the car is off the road for a bit longer, I was going to put in a centre box of some sort, but I may just leave it now, if yours isnt overly loud.

I always found that stainless systems give a really tinny exhaust note. My mates Astra V6 conversion weve just done is using the Astras stainless exhaust and that sounds really bad.

Have been looking around for a centre section as my middle box has more holes than a sive, altho it did sound good..... But it doesnt anymore the holes got so big!! You can cover the exhaust end and it will still run like normal!!

Hmmm... I'm thinking I might take out my center box then, cause it catches on everything (dual 57mm) I think I might need to bigger back box then, cause mine is like half the size of a stock 325i

Thats what I thought with mine. The 57mm pipes hang down enough, if I get a box in there as well its going to be even lower. I used to catch the standard 325i centre box quite regularly.

So glad I'm not the only person who has that problem.

tho the tailpipe did have some inline baffling in it.

that passed mot's fine - tho a few places were a little concerned about the noise.

That must of been fairly loud 8O

I dont think they can fail it, but Ive heard of some places refusing to carry out an MOT test at all, because the car was too loud.

I bet Mason was pissed, he's driving along minding his own business hoping to savour the sound of his proper maranello chariot and all he can hear is the sound of a datsun farting and wheezing !
