Personally I prefer the 6 button like I've got in the M3.
what do u think bmw could have done to make e30's better!!

Wouldn't say I prefer farenheit, just pointing out it does have one advantage. In any case, if you want the rest of the info. in units you can understand, you're gonna get the temp in farenheit.

Put the SI lights / board out of my line of sight, under the back seat if you like, so I dont step out of the car at night with green squares burned into my retinas. And so they dont screw the cluster.
Make the car lower. I dont like the riding position, as I would rather have a lower seat, and a lower roof, with a greater slope on the windscreen.
A better gearbox linkage as it doesnt feel nearly as sporty when the shift plate is dangling under the car and less shakey / iffy long term.
Lastly rust be gone. Some of the bits in this car you look at and think, surely the engineers knew about gravity when they built this thing :\ Its like a shaggy dog when its been raining, need to take it to a steep hill in first with the hand brake in one hand and give it a good shake.

If you're green lights are illuminated when driving, then theyre knackered, they should distinguish when the engine has started.dsio wrote:Put the SI lights / board out of my line of sight, under the back seat if you like, so I dont step out of the car at night with green squares burned into my retinas. i couldnt agree more
FWD is onviously jsut a cheap way out for manufacturers, and anyone who says its easier to control understeer than it is to control oversteer should be shot
On the subject of FWD, i hate jap cars
especially like Civic anb mitsubishi FTOs n shit i dunno why i just prefer european cars so much more

completely agree
british (except rover), italian and german cars are unbeatable
i admit honda are very reliable, but apart form the rx7 and NSX i fail to see an astoundingly good jap car??

I know it's been a long time, but I just been checking my threads, and I missed something on this one that I really really really really think BMW should have done differently.............essbee wrote:Standard gearing is too low. Steering could be quicker. Seat cloth is poor quality.
Can't think of much else, lets face it, it's basically an early '80's design and as such is well above average.

what they should have done is put shorter front legs and lower and stiffer suspension thru the whole range
skirts should have been standard as should colour coded bumpers etc
but my biggest thing is why oh wwhy didnt they bring out a 335 here in the first place???? thank you and rant over Daz

all i can say (as i havent picked up my 325i yet) is that after driving an 8 year old nissan for a few years - an e30 feels sooooooo nice to drive.
As for the clutch thing, i had a knee op in 94 and can not drive a heavy clutch in traffic, had no probs with the e30 on the test drive? time will tell.

forward opening bonnets
factory fitted alarms on all models
electric windows and sunroof on all models
rear disks on all models
and as mentioned earlier a cup holder
thats all i can think of for now

Just been re-reading my posts again, and I thought of another thing that bugs me about my Touring.........
Why is the steering wheel like something out of a bloody lorry??
However, I've got so fed-up with it that I've got a 360mm Raid 'wheel on the way (I hope!).
........... Oh! & why oh why didn't they make the M20 with chain driven camshafts????
