Great pics. It looks stunning. Nice to see being properly used.

Whats it like driving on roads without a speed limit?

I think thats the fastest the old man has been in a car tbh as in a car being driven more than straight line action. The mountain road is awsome, like the ring a big sensible needs to be taken. Some great corners up there, bungalow, windy corner is cracking, verander, water works, goose neck loads of them!

The locals drive like their waiting for 2moro, they barely speed up in the no limit sections. Its a fair old island 50 miles long by 25 odd wide. 1 dual carriage way by the air port the rest is just nice B roads everywhere.

I don't think the old man looked at the speedo once, i only looked when we were starting to run out of revs in 5th! lol

Blitz its frustrating driving in no limit sections! your constantly waiting for a section to overtake in a car, even if you want to plod at 60mph. Thats where a bike has a big advantage!

When out with the old man we utterly molested some wanker on hog type w*anker bike, it was slower than the car but he drove in the middle of the road to stop us passing! why?! Some of the bikers over there need to ride the ring to get some road manners though ride with some 911 turbo welded to their arse. They think a cars are an object in their way, although i held off a few paddys on 600's for a long section on 1 lap. They didn't want to take the bends quite so quick. They gave a big thumbs up when they passed once i hit some slower traffic! Twas ace, maybe the ring sticker helps?!

Looks a cool trip. Although I am not as passionate about bikes as you and your old man, I certainly don't mind them. I want one once I have made it to 25 :)

What is the isle of mann like then? It looks to have some fairly stunning sceanary. I bet driving over there is a pleasure. Come to think of it, every country I have driven in has been a pleasure compared to the UK. :(

The bane of every touring owner! We've slowly been watching this droop into its current state in the past few months. Although its been like this for a quite a while, so today i've had a little pop at it

Image

Half stuck back up, i peeled it away from the back so i could get access to the drop with my majic gear!

Image
Image

Not mint, but the headlining certainly isn't anyhow! but way better than before. I wonder how long it stays up? i'm hoping a bloody long time

Image

The tools of my bodge

Image

Noticed a small crack in this the other day, its filled right up with water and was playing havoc with my check control everytime you drove it!! tiny crack

Image

Shiney spare on

Image

While i was in the area i remembered i'd bought this new! as the one on the right was broke and really annoying everytime you open it the first aid kit falls out. I bought the one of left new from the dealer :? i don't think it was very expensive. So i carefully took the sticker off and fitted it to the new one!

Image

f**kin jubbly all the gear and no idea, i also unblocked the rear washer jet. It blocks all the time, does anyone else suffer this?!

Good job there Si, need to get round to doing mine once it's finished its finished its current job as a shed.

I'm going to use some Wurth stuff though, used it for sticking my black headlining round the edges in my chromie, was given it by my mate who's got his own bodyshop, he used it on his Capri restoration and it worked a treat.

my rear washers block the whole time too. rather frustrating.
i even took the tank and all the pipes out to clean them all through a while back and it still blocks up. whipping the nozzle/trim off and getting a willing mate to poke it with a bike spoke or similar while squirting helps get the goop out of the spindle. also then back-flushing the nozzles with some carb cleaner or similar (needs a good strong blast) clears the goop out of them.

I had the same problem, hose split by the hinge.

Now ive sorted that the wiper motor leaks water out now.

That's another issue with my rear washer.
I've been wondering about the possibilities of somehow fitting a washer jet somewhere other than the motor spindle.

I'm Glad everyone has the same dramas, mine sprays most of it away from the screen. All the new cars have the jets at the top of the screen This could be done if you cut through the glass?!

Mine does it too. Gave up on it ages ago!

Take the cap of, and squirt the cars behind, much more entertaining, it fires quite a distance!

E87's and 9x's have it on the wiper spindle as well. They are also prone to blocking and snapping off altogether.

Its seems they cant make up their mind as E46 ones are at the top!

They still haven't learnt about water leaks into the boot, only problem is there are usually electrical items that get submerged! 8O

my brother did this on his polo a while back. a similar setup iirc. his mate was tailgating him on a motorbike... one squirt later and he soon backed off!

aligning the jets is areal pig too. the teeeenyest adjustment just makes them spray everywhere other than the glass :(

i wonder if it would be possible to fit a on-blade nozzle? like pug 405's had on the front. that would improve it's operation a lot.

it's irritating to keep unblocking it but when the roads are salty, the rear window gets so dirty it bugs the hell out of me.

A mate of mine had rubber hose cable tied to the wiper arm with small holes in it to spray the screen and the end blocked off.

I keep getting bad thoughts on a set of mud flaps? I liked them on my old red 320 touring i had last year, had a 40mm drop on it

What do we think?!

I say go for it Si. As long as you give them a regular clean out behind to stop any rot!

Si, I like flaps! I'm a big Flaps fan!

As long as you keep it clean in there then fine. Whip them off every year after the winter to give it a good clean out and there should be no probs.

It's the way the flaps chaif that worries me most. The paintwork that is.
