Ollie, did he roll that down near Stoke Bruerne :?:
Usually happens at least once a week down there, and there is no
way anyone can come off that road driving normally.
He is one lucky idiot, if it was the car i saw.

Traction control can't save you if you are asking far too much of it!

Would he have been alive in something older, like my 205 or an e30. Unlikely. :( Perhaps his parents were right to get him something new. 8O

It's a fair point that - he may well have been driving like a twat, but boys will be boys, and his olds will be glad now of putting him in a newer car.

Don't want to get too old mannish, but Ollie, it's best you learn from this sort of thing mate - I rolled a Clio with side airbags and all sorts, doubt I'd have walked away from the same accident in an e30.

I agree with both the above. I put a mk3 escort 1.6 ghia off the road when i was 18 I had been driving like a c*ck im glad i was the only one in the car as don't think anyone else would have survived had they been in the passengers seat. lost it on a bend and it went into the scenery at a scary speed. only for a tree to stop it going any further. I remember getting out the hospital 4 weeks later and my g/f's old man took me to the pound to see the car. that was the scariest thing id ever saw as i couldn't believe id came out it alive

One of the reasons why I did the skid pan experience is because I am bound to have a bump, I just hope it doesn't kill me or the chromie.

ill be putting my misses on the skid pan at some point.
i got took out with an ex rally driver and was tought car control after i had my bump
my misses has now been driving 3 years and has driven her fair share of quick rwd cars and hasnt had any problems ( she even preffers a 325 over a 320!! ) shes had her own e30 it was only a 318i cab but we were forced to sell as it wasnt practical as a daily car for her with having our son. ill be looking for a baur for her soon and it will be getting a 2.5 if its not already got one. it will be her project so my thoughts is ill get her on the skid pan so if anything does go wrong she will be more prepared for it

Ouch - most important thing is that the lad is ok. We've all been there. Hopefully he'll learn from it and it won't happen again.
