Padded overalls from Machine Mart are more cost effectiveDanThe wrote:Heaters are overrated, especially when you get the bill for the fuel!
Empty that garage out! Chuck away all the shite you'll never use, sweep it out, couple of big carpet offcuts and a couple of cheap electric heaters off Ebay and get the 316 in there.
Put the Touring on the front gravel bit, chuck a sheet over the bastard and forget about it - have a useable driveway instead so you don't have to squeeze past the turd all the time. I'd spend the nasty months minting up the 316 Auto - might as well tax and insure it as well so you can use it. They're quite hilarious to drive. The Kickdown on M10 316 Sportomatic is actually a decibel switch.
Working on cars outside is a fuck1ng nightmare at this time of year.

I may put some rent in the screen on the 316 as it'll be getting an MOT. At least it's a manual and not a porride box.
I could then pick the bits off the touring

I'd imagine that surely the first job you'd want to do is to spray the wheel trims black to match the KITT look in your Avatar

the cold really doesn't bother me, but i refuse to lie down in puddles
You pussys try fitting exhausts on euro sh1t boxes when they are covered in snow dripping icey water down your back. Thats poor crack.
Or trying to find a puncture in a twin wheel trany inside pissing down, rotten wheel nuts and ice in the puncture bath.
I love this time of year. Wish i had tried harder in school

Getting back to thoughts of doing something with these projects, am I going to encounter any wiring issues putting the loom & stuff into this new shell? It appears to have the OBD socket thingymabob flugelbinder

Makes me laugh that. It's ok for you Dan. Me and lee can wire a plug nevermind working out looms etc. I have got a little panic on about that fan loom you did for me.

I tried looking for the instructions he sent me when I did my fan loom but i'd lost them in the dump (garage)
I still had to ring him and ask if I needed to fit fuses and relays to where the pins were iserted

I could go and grab the spare set from his folks in Hartburn though. Will see.
Just bought myself a decent trolley jack, 22" lift, double pump mo-fo.

But i was thinking of leaving the M10 outside after I'd removed it and taking the odd pish on it. Surely it'll end up with 1500bhp then, better start hunting down some Benetton vinyls

Nice to see that your back
Look to the left of the fusebox - that there be a C101. They brought them in during 1985 so the Motronic loom could be plugged in. In your case, the Pierburger 102±49GGG-348 Shitemeister fuelling system and it's ECU use it.E30BeemerLad wrote:Getting back to thoughts of doing something with these projects, am I going to encounter any wiring issues putting the loom & stuff into this new shell? Do what Michael would do. Bit of a moonwalk, a quick 'EeeeHeee' and a 'Shamone, muthafucka' and it will all become crystal.

Took a trip over to have another look at the Chromie today, picked up the spare set of keys which now remain in my possession (waiting for the main set & paperwork to arrive in the post).
Stuck a battery on it. It has 1/4 tank of juice in it and I though there's no point tipping 5 ltrs of fresh fuel in as it'll make sod all difference. It turned over for a bit before firing, but this was useful anyway as the oil light had gone out by the time it eventually fired. What a sweet sounding little engine it has.
There was soon a very strong smell of fuel though and I had a quick gander and saw that fuel has pished out from the very perished hoses all over the engine
So will have to address that before making an effort to move it anywhere. Moved it out the garage where it has been hibernating for the last 4 years and no seized brakes etc which is good news.
So next plan will be take a visit over there and chuck on some fresh fuel hoses and get uncle Dezzy to sort out a quick bit of welding and MOT it and then get it back here.
Man that stale fuel stinks though, I've still got a headache now over 2 hours later
