Hi all,
My Sport is acting odd. Just passed the MOT. Was literally driving out of the garage, hit the right indicator, and not working (as if a bulb has gone out), even though the Hazard lights work fine?!
In additon, my off side rear light and brake light keep coming on and off intermittently??
The near side lights are working fine.
Any experience any one?
Many thanks
CL

sounds like a classic case of poorly fitted light cluster, or the solid wires that go from the central pin to their respective bulb holders are bent/broken.
remove the light cluster from the inside of the boot and check its all good inside.

Thank you.
I did mess about a little with the cluster (I HATE the cluster) and haven't had much luck. What I thought was really weird is how the indicator would work once I'd switched on and off the hazard lights (?). Although now even that doesn't work lol.
I'll have another clean up. If anyone had any other ideas, please do share, it will much appreciated.
Thanks again mrLEE30

MOT test is probably the first time the hazards have been used for ages, and the switch has quit! Take it out, take it apart, clean it, lubricate it with a smear of silicon grease, put it back together and refit.
Off side rear light cluster problem sounds like a plug problem, as said above.

No luck guys.
Cleaned the hazard switch, cleaned the rear cluster.
The hazard lights work, yet the right indicator won't ??
The brake light on the right side won't work?
The rear light on the right side switches on and off as it wishes.
This is starting to p1ss me Off lol.

Hi all,
Ok, so much for knowing the people, both lads busy this weekend.
I will therefore try this myself - is it that diffiocult?
How do I put the separate ground wire to the earth bar? Where is the earth bar lol? And where would I start the wire from The battery or something?
Sorry for the stupid question, I'm sure this is very basic stuff.
Thank you

There are at least three completely different versions of the facelift lamp holder assemblies fitted to E30's, from different manufacturers, so you may find yours doesn't look like this.
In my experience, the version shown in willnz's pic is the most unreliable.
The version that looks the crudest, the one with exposed, thick, round wires, seems to be the most reliable.
