Good start made :D :D , that valance looks like somethings been chewing at it.

Valance really easy to remove, just a few bolts as i'm sure you already know.

Look forward to seeing this develop :D :D

Good stuff Baz. I would never have thought your motor had rust like that tucked away from looking at it at Santa Pod.

I read this yesterday afternoon and went home to the M3 and took the bumpers and sideskirts off for an insepction! winkeye I wouldn't have been able to sleep otherwise, happily all was rust free and lovely and shiny. One lucky boy!

I'll be watching this with great interest dude.

What's the rest of the car like rust wise? Is this the start of a full strip down?

No not really Ollie, taken in mind that i payed very little for this sport so i know there were a couple of things that needed sorting. Once the fronts done then it will be straight to back for a new rear valance as there is the same again on the rear.

The sides i.e doors, sills, floor pans, bulkhead, well just about everywhere esle is solid.

so i was happy to take it on

It's all good mate, had to replace the alternator and the starter over the last couple of weeks but nothing major.

It lives in a garage for most of the time, but will come out on nice days. 8) I like tinkering with it as much as I do driving it tbh! winkeye

So what's the deal with the Schutz stuff? Do you just paint it on and then paint over it? It looks like it will do a pretty good job keeping corrosion away.

Edit: Not bad for a tenner http://www.amazon.co.uk/Schutz-Textured ... B001KJ9GKU

i`v just painted on fella as there parts that your not going to see. if you can get heat to it it thins it out and you can spray it on for a better finish.

i might be able to get it for around £5+postage a tin.

If you go on the e30 wiki and look under smoked lights it will show you everything you need to do.

Looking good Baz. Is there anyway of making the lights look even darker? IIRC your cabs looked "DARK"

Looks spot on, I'm going to make three smaller cuts I think so it's a bit more subtle. They are not mega expensive new :D

Nice one, i'm not copying. I've got the AC Schnitzer one from the e36 m3, the top edge is the same, just a bit more meatier. So wanted to work out if its fitted just like yours.

Heres a link to a chinese sellers one in Carbon, its the same shape as a normal e36 evo like you have, just deeper. I don't see the point getting a Carbon one as it needs to be cut to fit, so i got a fibreglass one for pennies. :D
