It doesn't look out of place, but i bet it's just about to be lapped by the Lambo and the Aston unless the drivers are complete muppets.Morat wrote:Great pic! and the E30 doesn't look out of place either
Let's keep is real, E30's aren't in the same class, and never will be...

Personally, I would rather pay the money out for the E30 rather than the stupid amounts for a Lambo or Aston, save it and get loads of cool cars or do something sensible and pay some mortgage off... Or buy loads of cars...sihooker wrote:

The guy's with the lambos and aston's (for the most) have more
money than we will ever see, Probley have multiple mortgage's and income's. So these cars are just a quick dip in the pocket for them...
But if you got it, you can't take with you at the end so enjoy it.

Nice... I was also planning on this route.sihooker wrote: When i win the lottery...my only career plan to date
And again, personally, i'm not into super cars. If I had loads of cash, I would buy my dad R8 but thats about as crazy I would go. I would get myself an almost new land rover defender as I think buying a car brand new is almost as bad as paedophilles... Well maybe not that extreme but it makes me have a little sick in my throat at the thought of it.

I never said it was as fast, just that it looked in its element.sihooker wrote:It doesn't look out of place, but i bet it's just about to be lapped by the Lambo and the Aston unless the drivers are complete muppets.Morat wrote:Great pic! and the E30 doesn't look out of place either

However, I know a racer who enjoys thrashing scoobie drivers in a bog standard corsa on trackdays. Don't judge a book by its cover
E30 Touring 0.35 cD - more slippery than prison soap

True,an E30 does look good on a track.Morat wrote: I never said it was as fast, just that it looked in its element.

And, on a track like Brands where it's all about handling and there's only one good straight, i suppose a sorted E30 would have a pretty good chance against the rich kids!

Between the Mrs and I though we're in syndicates buying at least 35 euro millions tickets a week, and channeling winnings back in to buy lucky dips!!!
My numbers have got to come up soon!!

Silly thing is, he treated himself to a newer car cos his Cavalier SRi was on it's last legs so bought an E46 318i...and moaned about the lack of power ever since he got it! I did warn him.e301988325i wrote:That'd dosihooker wrote:My parents won £250,000 on the thunderball...the first time they played it!

Without getting into personal circumstances, I'm sure they could have afforded to P/X.

He was looking at 530D tourers before he bought the E46. It took him 18 months from winning the cash to find a car that he doesn't like to replace a car that barely ran(SRi)....this should give you some idea of what my dad is like!

I'm not taking the P155 here. your olds must be so happy having so much money they don't know how to spend it.sihooker wrote:Dont get me wrong, my dad's great, but he's never had money like that before, and i think he was just scared of spending it...and he's incredibly indecisive.
Winning £250K would only just get me a double garage, with a house on the side, mortgage free down here.

It's about the same in the area of Eastbourne where they live, but luckily the house was mostly paid off already.e301988325i wrote:I'm not taking the P155 here. your olds must be so happy having so much money they don't know how to spend it.sihooker wrote:Dont get me wrong, my dad's great, but he's never had money like that before, and i think he was just scared of spending it...and he's incredibly indecisive.

He had allowed himself £20K to spend on a car, max. In the end he spent £10K, and that broke his heart! What's worse,it's now only worth £3.5K trade-in, so he'll probably keep it until it dies cos he'd never let himself lose that much cash...

your old man must be a bit upset that he brought the e46, thinking it was grunty and that it sucks harder then a limpit to a supertanker!!

I've given up trying to work out who's copying who.
Your right he's upset, and he still looks on Autotrader for his dream E39 02 'plate 530d tourer.. but they dont sell for £5K with all the trimmings and bugger-all mileage, and that's all he seems to want to spend!

I remember one of the lads at work ringing me up after the slr vs lambo sv race in abu dhabi for top gear so excited at having driven one! Was a shame they didn't show the proper race as the slr pulled 5 car lengths by the end but they did another race to make it look closer
Might get shot for saying this but would defiantely have the lambo over the slr

I'd have the Lambo over the SLR too.
SLR is just a big fat cruiser.
The Lambo would actually make you feel like your going fast.
Same goes for Veyron, I'd pick an Maclaren F1 over that anyday.
