Tyre Pressure Query

Hmmmm.... I'm guessing what you need is someone with an alpina doorjamb sticker, though alpina 16s are only 7J or 8J
I wouldn't think you could go far wrong with something around 32psi - after all, the biggest factor is really weight, and that hasn't changed.

the standard pressures on my 325i touring do look very high, higher than any other car i've owned anyway
i tend to stick halfway between the laden and unladen figures as mine weighs in at 1400kg
due tothe LPG tank and M30. too high on the back and it can get quite lively

TBH, I have doubts.asmith88 wrote:35, cant be right surely? the back would be spinning all over the road
I'm going to see what the tyre wear is like running them at 2.0bar/2.3bar and take it from there.
The car's harsh enough on the road as it is without blowing the tyres up any harder.

My E36 325tds se touring fully laden is well over 3bar IIRC. 32psi/35psi on a touring sounds fair to me, I run 32/32 for road use 205/55 r15s.

Can anyone suggest how to test if the boot lights are staying on with the boot shut?

I run 34 f+r on 15s, the manual says mid 40s fully laden
Mine is v sensitive to minor differences in tyre pressure, like half a psi on one rear will cause the breaks to pull

Does it REALLY matter that much? I usually just do them all about 32 alll round, touring & cabby and leave it at that. What's the point about being anal about it, pressure will fluctuate with heat/driving conditions etc.

You can definitely feel the difference if they are not correct, but half a psi sounds a bit extreme!
Mine are whatever it says on the door plate, seems to work fine. I realise that only works for standard sizes though.

I have found e30s to be more sensitive to uneven tyre pressures than other cars - however, I would say anything in the right ballpark, as long as they are the same side to side, should be OK. Garage forecourt/footpump pressure gauges are rarely very accurate - if you aren't checking with a proper gauge they are probably nothing like what you think anyway.
