How do I know?! Because it's mine!

Over the last couple of days I have been filming an episode of the upcoming series of Fifth Gear in which Tiff tracks my M3.

Afraid I didn't get any great pics due to the filming taking place but it was a cool couple of days and I got the opportunity to take in a few laps of the circuit with him which was pretty amazing- as you well know, he sure can drive!! Plus they let me borrow a spanking new XJR for a couple of hours [:p] (well, should have been about an hour but the sat nav is rubbish!)

Should be shown mid-October.

He was really impressed with the car (well, that's what he said to me, hopefully he says the same on camera!) - especially considering my particular example has about 285,000km on the clock- and raved about the sharpness of the responses and the lack of slack in the gearbox and steering.

Here's a couple of rubbish pics!

And one of my girlfriend offering technical advice after the XJR got a little warm-

Unfortunately he didn't know replacement tyres were part of the deal when he did his timed lap the first day so said he was taking it 'slow' (all relative!) but the second day they did the corner shots and I think it gave it a little more gusto!

The laps I did with him in the XJR were just awesome though- the things he can make a car do were just outstanding and especially considering he jumps from one car to another all day but within one corner he's making them dance!

Cool! Im looking forward to seeing it. The track that Tiff used (ty croes/anglesey circuit) is not far away from me at all. I often go there to watch rallycross and stage rallying. A good little track.

Was there a Zone sticker anywhere in sight? You could have sneakily got one on Tiff's back with that old trick from school days!

Actually one of the researchers posted on here a few months ago and I just mailed him some pics of my car- guess it helped that they were the professional shots they took for the BMWCar article.

Afraid no Zone sticker- I meant to but didn't get round to sorting one out as I had a load of work to do on the car before it was filmed and time was getting short.

Chaos- that would be really cool, think they've provisonally said the 14th October but I'll keep you posted.

Looking forward to the Video!!

You have to get a copy of that on tape or DVD or something and then if you ever sell your car (I know, not likely :D ) you can put in the ad that Tiff drove it and make it worth more. I'd pay extra :D .

I'm looking forward to seeing this and they have hour long episodes in the new season too.

Awesome mate! i wish my car would be good enough to stand up to a tiff thrashing.. think it would die a sorry death! hehe. it survived the ring but thats with me driving and having worked on it for so long being s**t scared to thrash it too hard :(

Shows that the e30's were built to last mind you, 285k on the clock and Tiff thinks it still feels sharp! I am however VERY amused the jag was 'A little warm' and your M3 stood up fine to a bash round the track at the hands and feet of a racing driver! you could be clichéd and say 'they don't build them like they used to'

Trust Tiff as well, he is a legend when its comes to all things BMW, he has always been a big fan of M power and did a short clip on top gear I believe a few years ago all about the evolution of m power from the wolf in sheeps clothing the e28 m5 up to the e36 m3 (the newest one at the time) and he drove a gorgeous e30 M3 evo on that (got it on my PC somewhere im sure).

Anyway, once again - sterling effort getting her on TV for us all to see :D

Cool cant wait to see it. Hope the Zone gets a mention.

I met Tiff once, he was the after dinner speaker at a black tie do I went to. Nice bloke.

By coincidence I met a girl the other day whos uncle has some involvement with the Lister team he used to race for, cant remember details as I was very very drunk
