here is what i did with the rear bumper mounts, i pulled out the blanking plates to the box section (they are hidden put a screwdriver in the hole and use it to lever out the blanking plates) then i tapped out the hole for the mounting stud (left side has 1 hole allready the other is hidden it just needs tapping out) then the other side you have the left hole but the right one you will need to drill into the battery tray area, then i inserted the shocks and bolted them up :D

also you will need to grind off rear tow eye and just fibreglass over it (you can just see in 3rd photo)

all rust was treated, repaired and painted, and new nuts and bolts used on the bumper fittings

Yes finally!!!
Ive done this. You also have to alter the plastic panel in front of the rear wheel arch. I had to cut a piece out and glue it back together.
The kit is made out or impact typr resin so you cannot"weld" it with heat like other kitts.
Id like to see some pics of how you over came this because im not happy with the way mine turned out.The rear bumper over hangs the arch also.
Good luck mate.

Cool mate, been to portugal then had loads of problems with my laptop.
The anti virus thingy didnt want to work with my vodafone card so i was browzing with out any protection.Of cause the thing got all spammed up.
Had to get the bloody thing rebooted.Sorted now though i hope.
How you doing matey are you going to Gaydon??

Back to subject. So welding in later shape arch`s is the way to go eh???
I thought the later shape was about a inch longer so you would still have problems.(According to the total bmw artical)
Its to give the rear passengers more leg room.So i would assume its in the floor pan?? :? May be im wrong but almost every "conversion" ive seen looks a bit dodgy.

its just the arches, they should fit straight on with a bit of trimming.

if you buy a fibre glass kit new, ask for the one you want they should sell one for 83-87 and one for 88-91

i had a fibreglass kit on my old 83 320i, looked great but not exactly strong, i suppose if it was just the rear bumper your gonna use then prob ok, i def. wouldn`t recommend the front bumper though just not strong enough

if it's a late chrome car then the floor pan should be the same as a facelfit car, as they did this early on in the E30''s life like 84/5 i think

Might aswell sort the petrol filler neck whie it has no arches too mate?!
