Hi Lee,

Yes, we are around on Sunday. I have a bloke coming to Teesside around lunchtime to look at my bus which is for sale, but otherwise no probs. I'll PM you my mobile number and we can take it from there.

I've also just bought another 318i Touring in Silver again ( a runner with MOT) so should have that one here too.

You know Lee, whilst you are thinking about putting the engine in a chromie, it would be rude not to upgrade to an S50 winkeye

Naah, heavy old anchors :)

I'd need an iX to keep it on the road :)

My heart is set on that chromie but the practicality of the touring cannot be ignored. On the morning I went to the drag strip at York I had to do a run to the local tip and the car was all loaded up. 2 hours later I was on the start line to do some 1/4 mile passes.

Now that's what I call a practical performance car

Weight difference is negligable, you'd be better off having the S50 and wearing thinner socks :D

Dan's issue may well have been the engine loom being the early type (It's an 85 C?). An E reg Chromer will have a later type C101.
It will have an external fuel pump btween the tank and the N/S inner sill so you'll need to either use the external pump or lengthen the wires to reach the in tank pump.

If it's a 316 carb, it won't have a pump at all but the wiring is there for it, just not threaded through. The loom goes through the boot floor and between the tank and rear seat pan requiring the tank to be dropped to get it out. I think its the same mini-loom that also has the diff speed sensor cable.

Chrome is the way to go though, 101%

I'd be surprised if McD's give you any agg; after all, it says Drive Thru but isn't specific on the approach angle...

Absolute Class comment. But it did say "Drive THRU", not "Drive INTO"...
Currently slumming it in an E46 Touring

Don't worry Alex it's going to be on a drive in York getting the guts ripped out of it before too much longer. I reckon. Unless of course it's only fit for boxes. Then the polished metal may well attract a magpie. I defos need the back bumper though. winkeye
