I'm still interested in 2 or possibly 4 centre caps for the 16" stud wheels. Part number should be HO571 or 76077.

Ok chaps, I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but I didn't realise that this Group buy thread started in August of last year. I called Birds today to just enquire about these centre caps and to see how long they would take to arrive. I didn't mention the Zone or a group buy but just asked if they were available. I was told that they are no longer available and haven't been for some time. They said that they get a lot of people calling about these but that they have none in stock and that Hartge no longer produce them.
In a nutshell I think that's it...
James.

they look exactly like the plastic centre caps you get with alpinis reps with a stuck on badge?

your welcome to come over for a look there at mine at the moment. could clip on the same but there is defo a size difference as the pina replica cap is larger IIRCfuzzy wrote:the pic stu posted it looks exactly like the rear of my rep caps. the platic tabs with the metal ring around.

edit: they do have the same style of clip but again its the size of the tabs that arent the same we did play with some other caps to fit the wheels and sadly weren't successful with any

unlike the genuine alpina caps, the hartge ones are made from plastic hence why they are in such demand as they can be broken if not clipped on and off carefully.
(quick wheel change in the rain, dafties in quick fit and so forth)

Very much doubt BK171 caps will fit. Isn't one of the "issues" with the 171s that the centre bore is bigger than 57.1mm?? If that's the case, the tab spacing could well be different.
In any case, are 171 caps still available??
Oh, and these have got "HARTGE" moulded into them on the back, along with the part number.

i wasnt saying rep caps would fit but that they look very similar to rep caps in the way theyre made so shouldnt be to difficult to source from somewhere.
rep caps are easily available.

the tab spacing is different as i did try one at one point. plus they would never look right.. the 171 cap feels very flimsy in comparison to the Hartge cap but then you get what you pay for... there was a mob on eBay that said they could supply the caps for the 171 but i never went that far as the wifes cab wasnt a nice car to drive with them on so they got removed and i had the hartge wheels on it intill i sold it with a set of bbs on it

ive just been down to my shed and noticed that ive got a bit mixed up. on the rep caps the tabs are to the outside of the cap with a large metal ring around.

Birds uk told me they couldnt get these caps 4 years ago.... still managed to get a set back then and now another 3 sets arrived at my door ..... Birds uk is not really interested if you ask me not slagging them off but if it was a set of caps or somthing for a newer car i bet they wouldnt be long in saying they can source it. where as when i called them about caps for these wheels your lucky if they had me on the phone 5 mins. it was just a case of we cant get them nothing more. no well have a look sir and see what we can do sir ill take your number...

as i said previously Birds uk has been asked about these a few times within the last 4 years by myself and others. every time ive inquired about these ive had the same response that they cant get them. to me they seem unwilling to do a bit of research into them. so we carried out our own investagation and managed to get the sets delivered to the uktomson wrote:So did you go to Hartge in Germany for these caps then ? ?

So, is anyone else going to try to get some from Germany then?
I have to agree with James re Birds not being interested in E30s. I e-mailed Hartge.de enquiring about what pressure I should be running my tyres at. The answer came from Kevin Bird and was simply....
It costs absolutely nothing, takes very little time, but is a very powerful marketing tool/advertisement.
I doubt I'd ever need to contact Birds for anything, but I'll think more than twice about it if I find I do.

Yes, I am. Hartge replied to my email today saying -
"You are welcome to order the wheel caps from us directely.
Unfortuntely are the wheel caps for M3 H0571 no longer available."
Bit of a bummer about the 5 stud ones as I need a couple of them too
jbh did PM me saying he is willing to organise a group buy if there is enough interest...
