Ive managed to get my wife to get shot of her rover tomcat and persuade her to go BMW, she likes compacts but id like a bit of info on them before i plunge in.
1, Is the 318ti sport the pic of the bunch
2, what extra was added over a normal 318ti
3, is there anything to look out for,ie common faults rust etc..
A guy who works for me knows someone who's selling one soon, ive only seen it once but ive been told its
318ti sport
S-reg 98
all usual extra's (see question 2)
tax,test,fsh
18" mv2 alloys
'very' clean and tidy (near mint)
BUT the guy says its an unusual colour (limited) dont know the correct name of the colour but its like a metallic burnt orange??? he says they only produced so many in this colour? also he's asking £2,250 ono which imo is a little high (or is it?)
If anyone could shed any light on ti sports, and this orange colour would be much appreciated
Thanks (in advance)
Lee
E36 compact 318ti sport, anyone know much about them?

The burnt orange is Sienna red. Sports have M Technic bumpers and side sills, fatter side mouldings with 'M' in the inserts, shorter springs and slightly tougher dampers, thicker anti roll bars, 16 inch wheels, M Technic steering wheel, sports seats with Millpoint half leather/cloth, clear lenses and black headlining. Most have a sunroof and PDC at that age.
Rust is not an issue - they're better than the saloons and Coupes. 1998 will be a 1.9 as well. £2250 is steep, £1800 sounds a lot better.

Nope, standard colour on the colour charts available on all Compacts. Rare, but that's because it wasn't very desirable back then.

One question Kos, are they plug and play at the loom,ie no wire swapping involved? im guessing EWS has to come from the donor car.
