hello all,

my 89' 325i SE has now got a cracked head and/or head gasket.

I have neither the time or the effort to mend it as im moving away. The question is will i make more money selling as it is or shall i take all the goodies off and ebay them. Its got a sport LSD, nearly new tyres, Scorpian stainless backbox, Full leather ( think its the sports ones with the front seats having only a few horizontal stiches across them? ) and a few other bits.

What do I do? Help! :(

what is the bodywork like? - this will dictate the price (and to a lesser extent so will the mileage); mechanicals are much less of an issue

the body is not bad. small area of rust on nearside rear arch by the sill and small area on roof ( just bubling ) next to sunroof, other than that none. there are a few small probs like the sunroof motor packed up but is all in good nick. mileage is 138 000,

i paid Ԛ£1600 for it 4 or 5 months ago........ spent loads on it after that, like k&n filter, new fuel pressure regulator etc etc...

I can just see all the different opinions you'll get on this one...

IMHO you would get more money when all is done if you replace the head/gasket, and sell the car as a useable object..... but it depends how cheaply you can get the work done

LSD plus interior plus filter plus? will only get you what 500GBP max?

get a quote for the work on the car, then you have a better basis on which to make your decision (try and find a head yourself - Ebay or here)

Did you end up selling? When are you moving away?
