Ok I give up
I took of rear lamp clusters =no diff
I unclipped central locking and crash sensor=no diff
I traced all wires from indicator stalk =no probs
I am getting 12volts to 1 side and pulsing 2>10 volts on the other.
I checked all wiring and earth points around engine bay= no probs
I disconnected the immobiliser= no diff.
So it must be a ghost!!!! ooooohhhhh

Update on this annoying problem
On sunday I stripped all the dash and front panels/rear panels
With the help of my neighbour traced all wiring through the car, removed all fuses and relays from fuse box and the indicator relay still clicked away merrily?
I unsoldered the connections on the indicator stalk and found that one side was causing the problem, but unsure wether it is the high beam contact in the switch shorting so i am obviously going to try a new stalk to rule that out of the equation.

I had a random problem like this with mine. It turned out to be the wire that lights the glovebox light, was shorting together - totally random I know but it solved it!

try replacing your hazard warning light switch.
i had a problem with my indicators once and when i looked at the wiring diagrams, the hazard warning switch is like a junction box for the whole indicator/hazard light circuit
or, replace the flasher relay underneath the steering column cowling
good luck mate
