I know the 316 engine isnt great but is there any ways tuning wise i can make it go better without spending rediculous amounts of money?

Engine swap seems to be the easiest and cheapest option to get a good power increase!

Basically no. If the shell is good keep it and when you can afford it swap it for a M20 B25 or another engine swap like M52/M30

without changing the engine there is little you can do but a full strip down only is the most cost effective way of getting more power out of anything with an engine

Why not fit an iS engine into the touring ? You'll get good economy and heaps more power.
Well worth doing if the shell's clean enough IMO..

no definative plans either way. its all in my shed. although im heading in the direction of an off the shelf fast car as i cant be bothered f4nnying about with old cars anymore.
