Alex, if anything, your woes are a fine advert for procrastination. If you hadn't done all the work you have with such enthusiasm, the car would have years of entertainment for you left
If it ain't broke, fix it till it is
only downside is the storage costs might eat up the increase in value... A garage for £100 a month over a few years could knock out all the profit even if they get to £4.5-5K..Morat wrote:Your next mod should be a high quality car cover or a carcoon and store the thing until you either able to insure the engine you want or you feel like driving it again. You know yourself that you'll never get back the money and time you put into it, and if you mod it you'll probably end up devaluing it. Non M3s are not really classics in terms of value, but they might be one day.
We need an E30Zone industrial unit where we can lay up a selection of minters in carcoons for future use
you have the right car
all you need it seems is the 24 v's
i'd go that route and pay monthly ins and sell all your spares to get the down payment etc
but i'd keep the car.

very civilised on the road, and forgeting to turn off the traction could be a pain when you need to pull out fast
all in all a good car but for fun stick with the e30 or find another alternative

Maybe try something diferent to a BMW, as all you have really had is 4 E30's amd a corsa!
One of my dream cars is a 190E cosworth, not sure if it would be a 2.3 or 2.5 though! How about one of them?
What happened with that henna red 323i you were going to buy?

The arches were going on your IS and you sorted them!
A 325i Sport in good condition is always going to be worth more than your IS, so if the aove one is pretty clean its worth it imo!
The 323i, iirc zaust had a look at it, an dthought it was a pretty nice chromie, might be worth a PM to the new owner.
BTW off topic, but can you find any key blanks on parts auction?

Why put it in storage? Seriously?
If you think it's slow and are bored of it now, why is it suddenly going to be exciting after years of being stuck in a draughty lock up? I imagine it'll be like getting back with an old girlfriend - Exciting, and yet strangely familiar at first... then you'll remember why you broke up in the first place!

true, although i'am a bit bored i still love it
hence why putting in it storge and getting something else, then once i can afford to run 2 cars get it back out. Might not happen as it might cost too much

If you really do like E30s then I would agree with NAY and have a good one for best days and one for trolling around in and modding. The second one needn't be expensive; that way you get your "fix" of having to do repairs or mods to it every so often.
That's the way I've done it with the 323 and the 320. The 320 was a steal at £70.

Just don't rush into anything mate. If you sell up and move onto a six pot, wait for a decent one to turn up. If you put your car back to standard make sure you give me a shout. I'd gladly take those leathers and BBS off your hands.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

It's slower and it has that funny front valance - keep what you have, and stick a 2.5 in it (can't believe I just typed that.....I'm now one of a long list that advises other owners to put a 2.5 engine in their car.....I've now officially been on the zone too long!)Alex wrote:no angel eyes for me He who feels the need to reply on every threadImysE30 wrote:I hate insurance too![]()

one disadvantage of being young
We had your car on the ramp at work alex so you know it's a clean solid E30. What about sorting shocks springs bigger anti roll bars new bushes z3 rack everything other than motor. Get another years no claims then 24v it. You have the best base and it was cheep so I think if you sold it you would regret it.

sell the leathers and invest in some 35mm H&R springs and shocks.
Get something else for a while. There are so many cars that are just as good and also faster and cheaper to insure. You just have look about a bit, and don't go for anything obvious/common.
I really think that if you go to a 325i you'll just find it uses more fuel, makes a nice noise, but doesn't really do anything 'that' much better...
Are you sure you don't want to change because you shafted the engine at the Pod?

If it was my car, I would be steering away from the OEM look, by lowering it on some CR7 wheels, black IS lip / SE skirts / grille etc.... With deep blue sports leather the list could go on!
It would look

Engine is fine just seems a little tappeter than it used to be, e30topless (steve) reconed it sounded fine and perfectly normal and so do most other people, I worry when there is a little increase in noise ( i need a life)
although i want another diff now, sounds like a council bus
been looking at some 4.10 slippers on ebay.com
