As above, how can you tell if they are worn or not?

if the holes in the oil spray bar are blocked, the rocker arm arms will be worn.

Grab a torch and a small inspection mirror with the rocker cover off and watch the oil flow as you crank the engine.
with the engine off, You may even notice the rocker arms pads have developed a convex profile where they contact the camshaft lobes.

If this is on your ETA Mike, the cam lobes will look like lumps of Toblerone...

oops, a worn rocker arm will develop a concave profile.

Mark,

Are ETA rockers different to other E30s? If they look toblerone-ish are they worn? I assume you mean triangular..

Mike, the rocker arms will be the same,
but in a 325e, the profile of the cam lobes will be more triangular than a 325i.
Happy to shoot round this weekend if you wanna have a look to compare.

Just wanting to know as im thinking of buying new rockers for my new head when it comes. But I will have full sets spar so I could probably get one good set out of both.
