hi does anybody from the zone attend the monthley meet at Ashby its on the second tuesday of every month it starts around 6pm and goes on until late its for cars and bikes the last meet was brilliant there were a few thousand people there look it up on google and hopefully see you there
I was there on the 8th Sept, in a red 911 C2. What an amazing but brief drive from Northants into Leics border - lots of cars to tussle with on the way in..
Estimates were approx 4000 people showed up, not bad for a school night. Any ideas if its on in Oct? Will be taking my 325i if so.

Finally somebody from the zone im suprised there isnt more of us becuase there are usually a half dozen or more e30s there i think the october meet will probably be the last from what ive heard on the grapevine although there is no official word on this as there is no web site attached to this event if you google it you just get pages from mcn and other enthusiasts web sites thinking about it i might try contacting the pub they would no as best as anybody... if you want to meet up at the october event pm me a few days before and we will work somthing out
There were definitely some E30's in the display field as I remember perving over some very clean Tourings parked up next to eachother, I think also a couple of cabs there as well.
I still can't get over the complete and total lack of BiB at Ashby, it was all getting a bit lawless later on in the evening, reminded me of how weekend events at Santa Pod used to get a while back!
Would be great for a good E30 presence at the next one, maybe we could fix up a meet nearby & cruise over ther, nice one

aaaahhh!!! this is better although im a little embaresd to say ive only got a little one .... engine that is i am the proud owner of a very very clean totaly unmolested 318 tourer only had it a few weeks and im planning on getting all michael
jackson with it. e30shed you are right about it getting unruly later on its only been like that at the last couple of meets ive been to 6 or 7 this year and most people went home with there tyres in tact where you there for the cavalier vs orion burnout that was a bit mentle im suprised nobody has been hurt yet.,.,., and lawrie i can only assume living in eastwood you are a fully paid up member at mfn as am i this meet is somthing else you will be
all night long its a petrol heads paradise

Nothing wrong with a 318i as long as its not auto & doesn't have wheeltrims
I got the impression the people who had travelled to A.F were proper enthusiasts with some serious hardware all of types (from Astons, Ferraris etc, classic stuff like Austin Healeys thru to the Escort boys).
I reckon it was the local country bumpkins in scrappers making most of the noise: A spotty youth in a battered Pug 106 1.1 sticks in my mind.
Quite a few people from Pistonheads go, will check out if its on in Oct.

so my ride is ok cus thers no wheeltrims just botletop alloys and no auto box just 5 lovely gears excellent ive just got a set of headlight brows for her and a genuine m3 rear bumper
but with the car being white the big question is should the brows be white to match the car or black to match the front grill
White. No contest. Colour coded all day long, otherwise it they would look like theyve just been slung on. Not my cup of tea, headlight brows, ok on a Mk2 Golf but not on an E30 as its not continuous along the bonnet lip. A bit too Halfords for me.....

break out the white rattle can quick lol
I called up the Landlord of the Carrington Arms in Ashby today. They are NOT opening up the two fields in the village as they have been doing - however, they are expecting a lot of people to show up based upon last months' turnout... The weather on the day will be the killer.
Approx 4000 people went last month, would be great to have a good E30 prescence!
Hows about those who can attend add to the list:
E30SHED 325iSE

hmmmmm!!! i might change my user name to bottle top special lol if you are coming up from northants we could meet at the gate hangs well pub in thurmaston its about 15 minutes from ashby its just off the A46 let me no what you think the rs owners club meet there so they are used to petrol heads also ive pmd lawrie to try to find out if they are coming
Is anyone from Northants/Leics around for this on Tues 13th?
Last month approx 4000 people showed up, and not a single BiB... The Carrington Arms pub usually open two large fields to accomodate parking - this isn't happening for this months' meet as they don't want the grass chewed up by potential adverse weather.
Quite a lot of car and bike clubs are usually in attendance - a quick Google search under 'Ashby Folville' will give you an idea of how popular this meet has been. There is even a Facebook group setup with loads of pics of previous meets.
Please post a response if anyone is available for a pint with some like minded people

hello matey after i left you at that last roundabout i had my foot hard down to go through the s bends then through the underpass only to find that there was a ford puma sticking out of the hedge surounded by the law all waving like mad for me to slow down they didnt look happy as it came close to locking all 4 corners up trying to avoid them..... any way it made the ride home interesting

Hahaha I was loving your roundabout skills.. Just goes to show even a 318i will drift in the dry if the driver knows what theyre doing.
There was carnage on the roads last night, I saw two 'just happened' accidents on the A43 on the way home - An Astra parked on the armco, & a new Corsa on its side on top of a roundabout!
Nice one for making it last night
