So which is best (easy/cheapest)?

Hi all, after reading a few of these threads I become more confused as to which is the easiest of the 6 cyl transplants, I have a 325i 2 door and would love more power one day, ive looked at the 2.7 rebuilds before and would rather go for swapping.
So out of the bunch which conversion needs the least fabrication (I would buy an entire car with the engine to test first) ive always liked the idea of the e36 325i 24v (forgive my lack of engine code knowledge guys) but still see a few of the 12v 535i's floating about cheap, not wanting massive power but a good shove more!.
Opinions would be great, cheers all.

easiest /cheapest would probably be the m30 3.5 with 218bhp. around £600 to do yourself ive read.
