Drainage pipes from the sunroof area travel through the boot compartment, allowing the water to drain onto the road. It may be that the camber of road that you were on caused a build - up of water in this pipe, which only became 'dislodged' when you moved it......

It's ok Fi

It works in a similar way anyway, in the hood compartment there are drainage holes on either side at the bottom (near the rear window). When water collects here, providing the holes are not blocked, the water drains out through the sill underneath the doors.

Sounds to me like, it's all normal :)

...and that my camber / movement theory could hold some water (no pun intended). TBH, so long as there is no water IN the car, I really wouldn't worry. Has it been raining recently, OP?

Sounds like you have got a leak in the bulkhead/scuttle area? Check here for any holes
