Guys

I got a tin of maurtius blue mixed from halfrods and painted my tailgate. however the shade is way out and has turned out orange peel like. I read somewhere if i wet and dry it with 1200 or finer grade, this will make it less noticeable.

Can anyone advise please?

Standard problem with spraying with tins mate.
1200 is okay, but try and get some SF.

if u dont spirit clean the area before u spray it will "orange peel" ( and u also need to "key" the area too before that, key with a scotchbrite pad and spirit wipe after, and it should go on ok,..) also dont hit it too hard too many times

i have done lots of light coats ( 5 or 6), with 30 second spacing.. or 2 / 3 heavy coats with a good 5 mins inbetween., depends on the type of paint though

silvers and heavier metalics dry quicker but " dustier" than flat gloss colours so spray a similar surface before u do the job
