Hi

had my 320 for bout 2 weeks now and is starting to develop a strange problem. Every now and then it will cut out for a couple of seconds and then come back and carry on as normal. Doesn't need bumping off or anything and will do it even when it outs of gear. Also the other night went to set off, tried to pull away and no throttle responce for bout 5 secs then just shot off. Just wanna know is there anything I should look out for on these cars or is it just check the usual suspects

Check your grounds. Might also be an issue with the DME relay.
Not in E30s any more :(

If the rev counter drops INSTANTLY to zero, it's an electrical fault.
Immobiliser (whether you know of its existence or not!), DME relay, crank position sensor, ignition switch and the ECU are the main suspects, in that order.
Start by connecting a 12 volt bulb between the coil + and earth, and position it somewhere that you can see it.

Under the cover by the air meter/filter bracket. Usually white in colour.
