You have to go through both loom's wire by wire.
It will take forever and the haynes manuel has the wrong colour codes so double check the lot before even thinking of putting the battery back on.
Where are you?

Use a motronic loom from a 320/325 of similar age to the car dude !
you'll need the sensors etc and AFM but its worth it , the effort required is same for both, using the motronic is the best option IMHO.
I have pinouts if required, mail ant-AT-e30zone.co.uk for those and I'll get them shot out ASAP

cheers for the help guys tops
i presume if i swap the wires from the jetronic plug to the ones on the motronic plug that is the way forward? ie cut the jetronic plug off the 323 and wire it to the motronic one on the 318.
i take it then i would just swap the rev counter thingy on the back of the rev counter due to it being a 6 cylinder now where is the rev counter and speedo taken from? is it part of the plug?

I think the clocks are incompatable
By the time you go through all the diagrams it's just as quick to change it to motronic

how do i go about changing it to a motronic? how many sensors is there to change? and how much would i be looking at? surely i would need a 325 ecu and engine wiring loom would that then plug into the motronic plug next to the glove compartment?
surely its easier to splice the plug from the 318 engine to the 323 plug and plug the 323 plug into the engine and the 318 plug into the motronic plug? would this not work? then just need to figure out the RPM thing as its going from a 4 to 6 cylinder?

need more help guys if i get a 325 motronic loom what else do i need? a 325 motronic ecu? which sensors do i need and do i need to change dizzy etc? surely this will be mega expensive?
as i have got the 323 on the drive still i reckon i may just rewire the whole car swapping clocks etc as it is my drift car and not a daily driver

Do you have the 323 ECU? Presumably you do..
On the round connector (motronic I assume)
Pin 14, BK/WH comes from motronic unit "Speed Signal Input". Is BU/YL in fuse box and goes to the Speed Input of the Instrument Cluster.
I think this is the rpm gauge line, the Speedo should be ok as it comes from the diff does it not? So you need to find where it goes to from the cluster and splice pin 14 from the engine loom onto it? <insert disclaimer> Pretty sure most of the info is in that txt doc m8.
As you said, you could just lift the entire loom from the other car..

All the facelift cars have a coding plug that goes into the instrument cluster so you need the corresponding one that goes with the engine but the 323 was never run with motronic so there's no plug for it.
Making an adapter plug would be the most convenient but as to how it would run i have no idea
If you change the fusebox thats the whole car and that means the lights as well or you cut and splice to keep the facelift connectors

rather you than me.

sod it as its not a daily drive im gonna swap the loom as ive got the whole dash from the other one too it shouldnt be too hard as the entire interior is stripped anyway in both cars no carpets or anything and i wont be putting the dash back in!!!
