Hi

I'm no expert - but I've got a Baur. The original centre section on mine does not whistle, but I bought a second hand one which clearly does not fit so well, and it's got a dent in the metal bit on the very front and this one whistles very loudly. There is nothing wrong with the seals on this one and they are better than my original.
We're going to try to straighten the dent to see if this eliminates the whistle but even so, it's evident that this section does not fit so well, ie not flush.

Could it be that yours has a slight dent somewhere? Or is it a replacement section?

As an aside, I've also noticed that in some conditions, not necessarily windy, with rear section down and middle section out, that there is some noise, but this is not all the time.

I've not found a way to quieten it, but maybe someone else has.
There's a real Baur expert on here and I'm sure he'll reply to your question. Sorry I cannot be of more help. Jackie

Hello Bobcat - I suppose it could do and seems the most obvious reason for the noise. In answer to your question, here's a cut/paste response from Cotwold BMW who is the BMW trader on here. Someone else has asked for the seals, whether this includes the one you need, I don't know. Probably worth asking for a quote, but I suppose, postage to sunny Australia is going to be expensive.
You could buy a secondhand one which may or may not be any better. Good luck and I hope you cure the whistle. Jackie
