One bloody thing after another I tell thee, I thought beemers were supposed to be reliable, thats why I bought one. In the last two months its been rear axle carrier bushes, front balljoints, broken centre cap, siezed water pump which I replaced today (noticing oil weeping out of the head at the same time, joy) my wheel bearings are shagged and I still seem to have a bit of slack in the driveline, but only when reversing round a corner.....? What is this? Is it cos of my LSD, cos I heard thay didn't like going backwards....

Can you define 'slackage'.

My LSD was once filled with regular gear oil, not the stuff designed for LDS's (BMW dealer mistake  ), and it made a god awfull noise when reversing around corners. After putting the correct oil in, it was silent.

It was a sort of clunking/banging noise - not nice at all.
