I'm thinking of getting an LSD to fit to my 318is e30 as my diff is noisey and cr@p. Also my gearbox is a little tired.

As I intend fitting either an e30 M3 engine and gearbox, an M50 325i engine and box, or if I'm feeling really flash, an e36 M3 engine and box I was thinking of fitting the LSD from an e30 M3 or Z3.. Trouble is, it would be almost undrivable with my STD gearbox (4th would be like 5th)..

To rectify this in the short term, could I fit the gearbox from an e36 318is? Does this box have the direct drive 5th to suit the 3.3(ish) diff from an M3 or Z3??

Alternatively I might fit 205/50/15's and a 3.91 sport LSD. I can always sell that for what I paid for it anyway..

Any ideas guys?

The normal E30 M3 had a 3.3ish LSD (3.25 I think). The US spec (also went to Japan and I'm not sure where else) had a 4.1 LSD. If you want the 3.3ish make sure you get the right one.
