Seems that way doesnt it. In actual fact these cars going through my hands are lame attempts at trying to replace my old motor!

One minute i dont want nothing more to do with E30's, the next i cant wait to get my hands on one!

Blitz877-i didnt look for the exhaust straps yesterday, sorry. Will have a search tonight.

small update-

spent yesterday afternoon changing the stupidly loud exhaust for a standard one, i had to make 2 hanger glamps for the back box until i can get my hands on some proper ones! but its all much quieter now but its uncovered another noise which is the diff whinning like crazy!! luckily i have a spare 3.64 open diff to go in place of the current one!

thats all for now, il post pics tomorrow :D

a little update for today

changed the exhaust the other day
loud crappy one!
Image

to this, its a standard touring system which came with the car
Image
its sooooooo nice to be able to hear myself think inside the car now and not get unwanted attention from the police!!

next job was the suspension, i had a set of lowering springs thrown in with the car too! its now 60/60 which is much better than the 4x4 look!!

front legs off
Image
Image

differing spring heights
Image

and this is how its sitting
Image
Image
Image
sits just how i like it now, i forgot to get pics of when i did the rears

more to follow tomorrow :D

another small update

plan of attack-
change the whinny diff!

this wasnt much fun on the floor on my own but i got there in the end! linning the bolt holes took the most time tho!

getting the old diff out was quite easy being that it was a small case jobbie, heres the one thats going in-
Image
a bit crusty i no but i cleaned it up a bit before it went in, i found out that its not a 3.64 but its a 3.73, dunno whether thats any better than the 3.64??

heres the two together
Image

and a quick shot of underneath before i put it back in
Image

next job on the list is g60 brakes and rx-7 4 pots and rear disc conversion winkeye

another update!

took the carpet out the other day to check for rusty bits and stuff and only found these 2 holes

just in front of the throttle pedal
Image

and just under the glovebox
Image

nothing to major really tho.

spent saturday morning adjusting the tappets just trying to get them right!
Image

then the final job was to fit this!
Image

and here it is fitted
Image

sadly the manifold will be up for sale as iv found an m30 with a manual box to go in there instead winkeye

What sort of brackets are you going to use to mount the RX7 calipers? Seen some drawings of some pretty basic ones? Pretty sure that this is the way forward I'm going to go with my track car. Let me know how you get on with their performance etc :D
