Hi guys...
Im looking at getting an e21 3 series to do my M30 conversion instead of an e30... Does anyone here have one and could give me advice about getting one - where to look and what to look out for if there is anything inparticular. Also, what are parts like to find as I want to get a 316 ideally and then fit 323 suspension so it handles better and ideally 323 breaks if they are going to be good enough or move up to e30 325i sport kit if it will fit!
Looking forward to any info!
Jon

kedge has a nice one!
will make a fab conversion but you'll need lots of 323i bits. eg you'll need the front-back fuel lines, pump and probably the tank to to run your m30, carb cars don't have the high pressure lines
sorry to bore you! i'm sooooo fed up of working have a deadline for this article for monday morning and its going to be a long night

Cool stuff... might go for a 323 to start with (more likley to be in good nice as well!)... also been looking at 1602/2002's.... and I know it will fit in that too but it might be a bit too much hard work i think!
Good luck with your deadline.. best let you get back to writing... P.S. CLOSE YOUR BROWSER, this site is adictive and will waste many hours of your time when yoiu least need it (but we love it for just that!! hehe!)

I've know someone who has an E21 with a 2.5 M50 (i think). When he took me out in it I wasn't into BMW's like I am now, I had a renault, dark days indeed. Anyway, back to the point, he claimed it produced at least 200bhp and i've got to say, i don't think it is possible to have more fun in a car than that. The fact that he is a part time rally driver made it even more extreme i suppose. I've got some videos, they are slightly incriminating, and they are ruined by the girls in the car blabbing away worrying about crashing! Anyway - good luck in the conversion.

Copy Cat
Thats pretty much what i'm planning with mine, M30 conversion and 323i brakes and fuel system with Biltsein shocks. Been offered a B10 engine today for Ԛ£400, tempting
Your more than welcome to have a look round mine to get an idea of what they are like, still not on the road yet though

An you have a 323 to use as a donor already Daz
There's a 316 E21 for sale in Pool Daz, or at least there was a month ago. Should think it's still there, was in really good nic too.

thanks for all the replies guys! Glad im not the only one trying this... shoudl be fun however... Toby, the 02 idea isnt that far fetched, there are still some minters out there for a good price but parts are a pain in the ass to get hold off, simple things like disks and pads cost a fortune.
Kedge... get ehe B10 engine... beautifully smooth motors, I know a chap with a b10 e28 and its so nice! hehe

My first BM was an E21 323i. Probably my favourite car ever. Can't believe the power past 4000rpm. Unreal. Strange how my 325i's dont have the same grunt.
Think I'd cut off my nads to have another one....
