It's a mixture of 50/50 T-cut / G7

Smithy ,
Sorry to pick your brain but could you let me know the procedure you used to prep and paint those bits and what paint you used, how many coats etc . very impressed with those results and would like to do the same to my project.
cheers

No problem.

Wash the part with some type of degreaser, (i use poundland stuff)
Wash with lots of soap & water, then dry it.
Use scotch brite on it to get a rough finish.
Now at this point you can put primer on it (but i think its a waste of time, as when your rubbing down the primer always seems to come off before the top coat.)
paint it in light even coats. (scotch brite it again lightly between coats) the handles were about 6 coats, (as was the spoiler come to think about it!)
I have had a lot of practice with tins of paint to ensure i dont get any runs.
Halfrauds seem to do a 3 for 2 promo all the time on paint, so i use that.
leave it to dry for a few hours, until dry but not hard hard (enough to not get finger prints on it.) This makes it easier to rub down!
Rub down with rubbing compound, (or T-cut Mix)
Polish.
Stick it on yer car.
Take photos.
Post em on the zone!

good lad looks good, i am aslo a fan of home painting, sprayed the rear end of my 318 when at uni in my driveway with a couple od cool ones, came out a treat!! if your are interested i bought a tin of BMW paint (alpinewhite at the time) from dealers, and went to a paint suppliers who put it in a spray can for me, so exact colour, job done!!

but smithy not to pi55 on parade but dont lat anyone touch the rear spoiler, if its the rubber one it will crack all the paint and flake if some pi55ed idiot stubmles into it one night!!, park rear to the wall...oh err missses!!
