Ok here goes ill try and explain best i can

I changed my front brake pads not too long ago and ever since i have been having this weird problem
When im stopping the car normally for traffic lights for instance i get nearly stopped and the brakes get stiff and not do anything then suddenly loosen up and work properly
And also when i put the car into reverse after stopping i try to brake after reversing and the brakes grip and wont release easy then release themselves?!?!?!

Its not dangerous but very annoying :x

My discs have a few scratches in as i didnt change the pads in time.. will this have anything to do with this?....
Oh by the way i can feel its the fronts and not the rear and it also makes a creaking noise sometimes (not squeeking)

Cheers. Andy

Ah thaty sounds like a possibility as when i was changing the brake pads i accidently dropped the caliper a couple of times so it put stress on the pipe...
Ill also change the fluid at some point soon..

Whats a proportioning valve and what does it look like? lol

Cheers, Andy

This valve is mounted on the engine bay side of the l/h inner wing,in the brake line(steel pipe)that runs from the brake master cylinder to the rear brakes. It's about 2'' long and a bit under an 1'' round.Difficult to see from the top with the engine in!
