Does anyone know whether having my injectors cleaned will stop them leaking?
Can't really afford a new set 'cos I've decided (well almost) to buy a new exhaust system from ECP.
injector woes...

No way of knowing until they clean them.
I found a place in london that will do them for Ԛ£15 each so that's still going to work out around a ton.
Have you had a quote yet ? if so how much?

UweM3 did they remove the injectors from the car to clean them ?
or did they do it "with them still in the engine " as i had been quoted by some garages

Are you sure it's not the seals that are leaking?
Buying a set of second hand injectors might work out cheaper than sorting your own.

Well it's just that I've tried the pull fuse 11 trick several times and every time she has started immediately - No coughing, fluffing or black smoke.
I guess that must mean that there's no residual pressure left in the fuel supply rail and that therefore no/less fuel drips into the combustion chambers?
I think I'll have to flog my Grandmother to a Moroccan slave trader for Ԛ£600 - New exhaust system and injectors

jay528ise1985 I've got the same problem, i thought mine were leaking. If you pull the fuse you have to leave the engine to stall so you know there is no more pressure in the system and then try it again after leaving it over night with no pressure.
In the end i pulled the manifold off with the fuel system in place and cranked the engine.
They were all firing out in a jet and not a fine mist
and not leaking at all.
I got another set from the breakers that did the same thing so resigned myself to the idea of just buying new ones.
If you get the them cleaned for about a hundred quid and are then told you still need 2 or 3 new ones anyway you end up paying about Ԛ£250 and still have some of the old ones in use, so you may as well just buy 6 new ones.
(Sorry smithy)

Thanks for the offer Smithy but I guess that buying a secondhand set will just buy me different injectors with same/other probs - I guess I've gotta bite the bullet & cough up the cash!Do you need injectors?

Yes Martin, I think you've hit the nail on the head. Probably the best bit of advice for all zoners when 1 or more of their injectors are shagged...If you get the them cleaned for about a hundred quid and are then told you still need 2 or 3 new ones anyway you end up paying about Ԛ£250 and still have some of the old ones in use, so you may as well just buy 6 new ones.
Thanks for everyones advice & thoughts - It's of great help to a wet behind the ears newbie like moi!
