I have never dealt with Jayson directly, he's the guy who runs ChipedUK, but the "eta" crank I bought of IanH35 (unbeknownst to Ian) was a 320 crank. And Ian had been sold it as a 2.7 crank by..................ChippedUK.
I have heard other stuuf, but as it has not been my own experience I don't think it is my place to say.

//DON'T QUOTE ME ON THIS//
I have heard that his chips can be quite shoddy, worse than the factory ones, and that it takes him along time to do exchanges or refunds. But as I say this is not my experience so hence "I have heard" - I may be wrong.
I must admit I'm not impressed though that his company has fobbed off a member of the zone with a 320 crank saying it's a 2.7 one.

ChippedUK had a few problems back in the day on e30zone.
I'm a member of e36coupe forum and he does alot of business on there and seems to only get praised. You can check this yourself.
I've not heard anything bad about Jayson for quite some time now.
He himself admitted that back in the days he was doing too many things at the same time and hence some things went pear shaped. He is much more organised now.
I've been with him at a customers house doing some mapping and its all very proffessional now.
I myself even bought a M5 chip off him about a month ago and have been very pleased with the results.
As far as chips go for the E30's, there's not much difference in what he does and what the zone offers.

i thought i had a problem with the ecu on the project car.
i gave jason a ring he said he could check it with his diagnostics set-up.
i took the ecu to him, he checked it, even replayed the last 100 seconds
of what the ecu was doing before it lost power ( i unpluged it),
it showed the revs i was using, throttle position etc.
then he charged me nothing for this.
so my experience with him was fine.
i dont know anything of his past though.

I am a friend of jay and helped a zone member out jonbouy who can verify this, I wouldnt beleive a word you were told off ian, jay gave him the crank for free but who is saying this is the one he tried to sell you.
You only have to look at any bmw magazine for reviews every month of his work as well as any rolling road event organised by this forum to see how well his goods work.

I have to add that he did have a few problems in the past but I've heard nothing bad about him lately and he runs it as a proper business now rather than a few bits here and there.
I've not had any experiences with his products though.

Ian was given the crank for free he never paid 75 pounds for it and the one he had was from an eta as jay left the rods and pistons to les stannard who built his 2.7 engine, all of which can be verified if you contact les stannard.

As said in above posts, he does a lot of business through other forums e36 being one.
I think through his own admission he took a while to get the proffesionalism down and this led to some bad feedback.
He runs a proper operation now from what I hear and he spent a bit of time trying to help me with some alarm issues and seemed like a genuine bloke.
The e36 boys rate his stuff highly (Ԛ£100 for an M3 chip that does the business can't be knocked), but I can't see that it makes any sense buying any other chips for an e30 than the ones that are sold through the e30 zone. Tried tested and cheap

I bought a "Viper 2 Extreme" (Newest one out) off of Tourerti and fitted it just before i went to the rolling road. Even though the car had been set up wrong in the first place the chip made a very good improvement on torque power. Tourerti has kindly said he will set the car up properly for me when i get to Gaydon so i can get the best performance out of the chip. I have no problems with what i have been sold and infact i am very pleased with my choice

well ive had loads of dealings with jay, he has chipped or remapped my last 5 cars & he is even doing my berlingo. i have never had any problems with any of them, i know quite a few people who also use him from other forums & there has been any bad feedback on any of them.
i know he did get a fair bit of stick a while back but his new set up seems really professional..

The whole setup changed when he started doing the Gumball cars and when he did jamiroqaui`s 360 ferrari and 997 porsche he used pictures in adverts in autocar to really push his business, he also did a gumball event last year in an e30 which went well completing the event without a hitch.
A mixture of organisation and product releases have changed his business from small time too the big league, he did a modena and a murcialago today as well as 2 bmw`s with one of them being a zoners 318is.

You may now me you may not, I met Jayson(GumballE30) about 2 years ago via the Zone, at the time he was doing chips for the E30 in wich i was very interested, we exchanged a couple of Pm's emails ect....and eventually agreed on a date to get my chip "fitted by Jayson Himself" at
HIS humble abode.
He fitted the chip for me at no xtra cost and i didnt leave until the car had settled, ive still got the same chip fitted and still no probs, ive met with him on more occasions i can remember and hes always come across as a
genuine guy
What ever organised event i go to he's always there. i.e Donnington BMW Car Club, or even Gaydon last year, if he was as dodgy as some ppl think
i dont think he would have turned up to be honest, would you ?
Aaaah just remebered he was also at Rockingham's 21st bash too, he gave me soe GOOD advice on coating my wheels.
What else can i say..................i'm sorry if "stuff" aint gone right for other zoners but i SPEAK AS I FIND and he 's done me no wrong and look forward to meeting him once more
Enjoy your weekend guys.
Lee.
